If you are a person who does horrible things all the time, it doesn't matter if you don't do this to your friends and family. You are still a horrible person. And of course this will affect you going to heaven.
Being raised to believe a certain way has nothing to do with whether you are horrible or not. We are all given the ability to reason unless we are ill.

If you accept and believe that Jesus paid for your sins on the cross and that He is your savior, I believe that at that point the Holy Spirit starts working on you and the things you do in your life that are sinful. It is a lifelong process to undo the things we were taught or the habits we picked up before we met Jesus.
However, Jesus is the only way we get into heaven. Without Him it doesn't matter how good or bad we try to be.

the only way you can get to heaven is if you ask Jesus to be in your heart and believe he died for your sins and that he is Gods son.
You can not get to heaven just by doing good things the bible says that every one has sinned.hope that helps.

The only way anyone goes to heaven is if they accept Yeshua Jesus Christ as their savior, meaning they accept that he stood in their place to take the rightful punishment we all deserve onto himself so that they can go free. It isn't about works. It's about having a heart that's right with God, through Yeshua.

Salvation is a free gift from God through Jesus Christ our Lord and only Savior. It can not be earned by being 'good' enough.

Only the Lord knows your heart. If it is rotten and he knows it, no ticket to heaven.
