The "friends' category is a good place to be.
The best relationships are based on friendships.
But be sure to be up front with a girl if you've fallen for them instead of leading her on to think you two are just friends.
I don't know how old you are. You sound like a teen, really - you have your whole life ahead of you. Don't stress if "you don't have a girlfriend" "and think you're not cool" because of it.
Stay focused on hobbies, your goals, dreams and your grades, you'll find someon.
I know this is cliche, but when you're not looking. It will happen naturally and will be with someone you meet while you're working on liking you and being proud of who you are and your interests.
Girls will respect you.
(It takes more than just the first 10 minutes of interaction to be attracted to someone. It takes a lot of meeting up with them, talking to them, and being their friend.
Just be yourself. Don't try to change who you are and never try to change a girl. People are who they are and you have to take them at face value.

Basically have fun being young and make the most of your friendships. And no nice guys aren't losers.
They're what girls like. Girls don't like to be disrepected.
