Romney seems to leave his religion out of politics. Too bad the American people can't all do the same. Too much ignorance and misconceptions about Mormons out there.

Peter, Hillary is better?????
The thought of watching her as president makes me sick.
After being on here for a while I just have realized that a lot of people dont have a clue what mormons believe, who mormons really are and dont really know any mormons. Where I live religious diversity is everywhere so religion is just a non issue and I never understood how people can judge a person based on their religion. If this message board has taught me anything its that there are a lot of people out there that just havent been exposed to a whole lot of different religions.
If I said I wasnt going to vote for someone because they were catholic, or muslim or jewish, I would be called a bigot up and down. Yet it seems perfectly ok to say I wont vote for someone who is a mormon. Oh well. Not much you can do about it but correct people when they make ridiculous statements about mormons or the church. Maybe one day these people will actually get to know more mormons and realize they arent a whole lot different from themselves and they basically live theirs lives in the same day to day routines as everyone else.
How anyone can look at Romneys voting record and really have a good reason to think that the church has any influence over him is beyond me. Funny how noone seems to be afraid that the church is controlling Harry Reid, a self proclaimed devout mormon.

I am evangelical and I do not plan on voting for Romney. His religion has nothing to do with the matter ( I always liked Hatch). I am not voting for him because he flip-flops onviews such as abortion.
I support Huckabee because he has been consistent. If Huckebee were not running, them Romney would be my next choice followed by McCain.

Yeah...it's true.
Religious views aren't important to me...it's their morals. I'm LDS but I really don't think I'll vote for Romney...mainly for the fact that I don't want a republican in there again.

I think religion is important when choosing who to support. Religion is the cornerstone for people's morals whcih guide the decisions they make and how they live (and if a politician) influence other people's lives. It is huge in importance.

As a Christian, his Mormonism was his strong point to me. How many so-called "Christian" candidates did missionary work for a few years?

To me, not at all. Unfortunately, there are millions of Americans that disagree.
