What is truth?

Depending upon who you ask today, the question "What is Truth" will get you very different answers and, perhaps, lead to even more questions. Here are some current thoughts on truth:

There is No Absolute Truth.

But wait a minute! This statement is making an absolute claim to truth. It defeats its own claim.

Truth is Relative.

Does that include the statement that truth is relative? It would have to, making this statement invalid since no claim to truth can be made by this statement, including the claim that truth is relative.

You have Your Truth and I have My Truth.

And if your truth and my truth are in conflict, what do we have? Can there be conflicting truths? If so, then how do you determine what is valid? If my truth is that there is no God, and your truth is that there is a God, does that really effect whether there is a God or not? Saying that we each have our own truth may make us comfortable but we would have to not care about truth to say this, because no matter what my experience or your experience tells us, the truth exists as it is.

Truth is within You.

Seek truth within yourself and you are back to what your experience tells you or to what you want to be the truth. Your perception may affect you and be true to what you want to believe, but it does not affect what the truth really is. Your experience and belief could be telling you that something false is true.

So what is Truth?

If you're tired of wondering or of playing these mind games, consider that maybe truth is not all that complex. Maybe it is something a child can grasp. Maybe truth is a person. The God-Man Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

Will you be like Pilate, who asked "What is truth?" (John 18:38) right after Jesus said to him, "And I came to bring truth to the world. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true," (John 18:37b)?

Or will you be like the Roman officer who saw Jesus die on the cross and said, "Truly, this was the Son of God!" (Mark 15:39)

As Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, " (John 11:25) and "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved; and shall go in and out, and find pasture," (John 10:9).

1. Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)): "He is Allâh (SWT), (the) One. The Self-Sufficient Master, (Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks) He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him. (Quran Chapter 112)
2. He is the Merciful and the Compassionate, the Guardian and the True Guide, the Just and the Supreme Lord, the Creator and the Watchful, the First and the Last, the Knowing and the Wise, the Hearing, and the Aware, the Witness and the Glorious, the Able and ' the Powerful. (Holy Quran).
3. He is the Loving and the Provider, the Generous and the Benevolent, the Rich and the Independent, the Forgiving and the Clement, the Patient and the Appreciative, the Unique and the Protector, the Judge and the Peace. (Holy Quran example). The question of Allah's (SWT) 'God' existence has preoccupied men's minds for many centuries. Those who believe in Allah (SWT) 'God' seem to agree that the limited finite human intelligence cannot prove the existence of the infinite boundless of Allah (SWT) 'God'. It can only illustrate or demonstrate his existence to the satisfaction of the curious human mind.
Those who deny Allah's (SWT) 'God' claim to rely on science, philosophy, or special theories of knowledge. Their arguments are sometimes inapplicable, sometimes irrelevant, always complex, and often incomprehensible. However, the developed mind will find its way to Allah (SWT) 'God'. Failure to find the way does not mean that there is no way. Denial of reality does not make it unreal.

The ultimate Truth is GOD , spiritual seekers has been referred to by various names: God, Truth, Nirvana, Yahweh, Jesus, Allah, the Father, the Mother, Heaven and so forth.
Let us not be confused by names. A river may flow through three or four different countries. People in these various countries will call the flowing water by a different name or word and yet it is still the same river. Let us travel beyond words into the realm of experience; let us explore the common thread that unites these compatible teachings.

Excellent question that everyone at one point or another in their lives will pose to themselves. It is a difficult question to answer only because each of us possess varied perceptions of life in general. You can almost say that it is a question that can never be answered here in this physical plane. The simple answer remains....ultimate truth is what you believe right at this moment. That belief is the ultimate truth to you and may not be the ultimate truth to someone else. Us humans are extremely dependent on our physical senses and therefore our "ultimate truth" is what we perceive. Since I myself believe that the only true way to find the answer would be when you are face to face with God...then will you find ultimate truth. The bad side of that is that you will not be in this physical plane that we all see and therefore cannot share the answer with others.

The ultimate truth is the teachings of the one teacher who doesnt even have a degree - Jesus Christ.

His teachings were written and recorded by people and passed on from generation to generation and made into a book called the Bible. Just by reading and understanding His teachings, all your questions will be answered in due time.

But remember that when one is trying to search for the truth, the more one is being tested of his belief and strength.

"You cannot step into the same river twice."

That's about as close as you can come to "ultimate truth," which is by way of saying that such a search is trivial. The only truth that is worth attempting is the kind you can create and be responsible for. Call if "moral relevatism" if you must, but ulitimately it takes more courage to live without "ultimate truth."

The ultimate truth that will give you peace of mind is understanding why and where you choose to find it.

The ultimate truth is that the search for the ultimate truth is eternal. Its about the journey, not about the destination.

Jesus said this, whether you believe it or not will determine this 'peace' that you seek.

John 3
17 "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."

If you get that, then this will happen:
John 4
13 Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

Are you thirsty for the truth? Then take the 'water' that Jesus has for those who trust Him.

Because,
By the deeds of the law there shall no person be
justified in God’s sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin and all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:20, 23
Then,
They all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:12 Also I say unto you, whosoever shall confess me (Jesus) before men, him shall the Son of man (Jesus) also confess before the angels of God: But he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.. Luke 12:8-9
However.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
For,
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Therefore,
If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Romans 10:9
Then,
He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white robes; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5
So,
That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:15
