Hi i have a huge problem hopefully someone can answer it before i go get another piece of crap tomorrow. I need a good flat iron that i can also use to curl my hair. I've recently purchased an infinity revlon flat iron from walmart that didnt work at all with my hair. Then when I to sally's beauty supply and bought a helen troy cermic series with curved plated that they assured would be good for my hair. When I got home and tried it out it didnt even grip my hair. Now my hair is not thick and its not thin its right in between and its a little past my shoulders. I am working with a budget however i have 40 to spend and cant afford anything higher I also wanna buy it tomorrow to do my hair for thanksgiving. Please help me with my dilemma as you can see I've already made two bad choices. Thank you.

I would also recommend CHI also but I see you're on a budget.

Get the Gold N' Hot from Sallys it will do the job until you can afford a CHI. It's around $40 give or take

make sure you also get the one with the rolled edges so you can curl or flip your hair.

Make sure you're using the right hair products to help straighten your hair they make a huge difference and prevents lot so damage.

Make sure you get one that uses ceramic. Skip WalMart and go to Sally Beauty Supply. It's more expensive, but better quality. Speaking of which, one thing to keep in mind is quality. How much did you spend on that crappy one? Are you really willing to spend as much as $40 on something that fries your hair and tears it again? You're better off waiting until you can save enough. I got a great one for under $100, but it was still more than $40.

You could also consider doing as I do and going natural. Curls rock.

Well, ys, the chi is great, but can go around $200.
Bed heads good too, but for one that can do bth it will probebly be around $70
The Revlon wet to strait s great for straitening $25-30,
and conair hair curlers for curling, usually about $20, but I just got some on sale at exerdeds for $10.
Hope that helped :D

get any one that is ceramic, and don't forget to do your hair in small pieces, not all together as a whole. Really, the super expensive ones can work just as good as a $30-$40 if you can use them correctly. Don't waste your money.

I have a Remington wet to dry flat iron. It doesn't curl but straightens amazingly. I LOVE it. I have had bad flat irons and sounds like we have similar hair..the remington works really for for straightening.

You may have to buy a curling iron because the cheaper two-in-one deals are really no good.

p.s. the remington looks cheap but it works, trust me.
