The Ford Hybrid Escape is unarguably the most fuel efficient SUV on the planet, but it will be difficult to find one that is pre-owned.

They came out in 2005 so there could possibly be a couple used ones out there, but they are few & far between.
Don't let the "Hybrid" thing scare you !
They actually require LESS maintenance than a non-hybrid & ALL the "hybrid' components are warranteed for up to 100,000 miles .
They are fun to drive & have as much (combined) power as a non-hybrid 6cylinder Escape.
They are very reliable. New York City Taxicab deivers bought a fleet of 18 in 2005. (Talk about a vehicle that gets abused!... NYC cabbies can be extremely rough on a vehicle)
All 18 have close to 200,000 miles on them ..... NO problems & STILL original batteries!
There is NO other SUV that will get the kind of gas mileage that a hybrid Escape will get... so if you can find one ... GO FOR IT!

older escapes weren't too horrendous on fuel.... pretty much any smaller SUV shouldn't be to bad on the fuel like the Kia sport-age, Honda cr-v, jeep liberty, dodge nitro... the 4x4 v6 Chevy blazers aren't that great on gas maybe 22-23 mpg... best thing you can do is shop around and see what's available in your price range and go from there... happy hunting

optimal good is a annoying element to declare, thinking its in actuality someones opinion. you apart from mght didnt ingredient out the dimensions of motorized automobile you're in seek of for for. Fullsize i could choose to bypass with a Chevy Tahoe, good motor and drivetrain, gentle experience, and could get on the edge of 20mpg on the line. in the journey that your speaking midsize/mini, then bypass eastern, Toyota or Nissan. i could choose to take a Nissan over Toyota anyday. Toyota basically feels fee effectively made. as plenty as i comprehend my steer clean of, any Truck/SUV Daimlyer/Chrysler makes isnt very gas smart (sorry that includes Jeep products as properly). and the GM midsize SUVs get some comparable mileage because of the fact the fullsize. and Ford basically builds junk. additionally a splash FYI. Jeep didnt initiate the 4x4 revolution. it take place it sluggish previous in the previous them in the early 1900s. yet once you're actually speaking the "Jeep" finding motorized automobile that appears like the CJs and TJs, then you definitely might desire to easily thank you Bantam and a splash later Ford & Willys Overland who made the "GP" for WWII.
