Ryan H - I think the question pertains to religion in a direct way. Would the Christ of the Bible support war, or the healing of people. Preach all you want brother - the hypocrisy of the age is found in actions, not words.

I am amazed that so many have missed the point. I believe we are entitled to a better health care system than we already have. I think Jesus would be appalled that people are sometimes refused health care or have to choose between eating or buying meds. It is no longer a political issue, it is a humanitarian issue. We could have a really nice program if we stopped funneling money into the middle-eastern war machine.

i think of you're comparing apples to oranges. i'm additionally chuffed you could decide appropriate which wars are justifiable and that are actually not. you may desire to be in cost of the rustic with those kinds of credentials. for my area, i do no longer understand why or as quickly as we'd desire to constantly work together in conflicts. I do have the opinion that the UN might desire to take an lively area in policing the international. however the distinctive comments from the numerous international locations makes them ineffective. yet it relatively is yet another question. We look unwillingly caught in that place. i'm a proud grandmother with a substantial investment in youngster's wellness care. i've got self assurance dad and mom are to blame for his or her infants. i don't have self assurance the federal government is to blame nor do I wish their interference. each and every thing comes at a cost, and the federal government already thinks it will be waiting to steer infants in how they are raised and how they think of. So, no thank you, we can cope with our own wellness care issues.

I bet we could have paid for health care for years with what this war has cost. I sincerely believe Christ would want people to have health care instead of war. People who say differently, I don't think, really know what kind of person He was.

Universal Health Care is a bad idea, in my opinion. There aren't enough Doctors to make it feasible. If everyone was able to see the Doctor for every slight problem they had, we'd have an impossible time getting in to see a doctor. They'd always be filled. That's what's happening in Canada, presently, and it's what would happen here. Sure, you can say it's the government's responsibility to take care of everybody, and the taxpayer's responsibility to take care of everyone else, but it isn't.
I personally don't want to waste my bloody hard earned money on some idiots who contribute nothing to society with erectile dysfunction. Sorry. Just not on my 'I care.' list.

edit: Well, deathfromabove, you're free to your bleeding-heart perspective, I'm free to my brass tax perspective. You believe we should take care of everybody, I believe that leads to a welfare state.

The US is not next to last, it's 37th out of more than 200. You'll make a flagrant error of fact just to 'emphasize' a point won't you? No intellectual honesty at all. Here I trusted you too, until I looked it up.

Again, death from above, I cited my source. It lists Infant mortality at 6.37 out of 1000. It listed Angola at 184/1000. Let's be honest with each other here, buddy, unless something really went crazy in the US in the last year or so, your figures are not accurate.

5 out of 1000 is actually better than the 6.37 out of 1000 listed by my source. Your poll only takes in account a few 'modern' nations, though, it doesn't take into account all nations.

Whatever, guy, you're an 'unemployed' ex-vet looking for a handout. Give me a bloody break. You use 'infant mortality' as your rallying call, but you really just want free viagra.

Much cheaper, however, the politicians in office would have to sacrifice the kickbacks that they get from state and federal programs that supply their employees with health insurance.

note to Ludwig,

Everyone that I know of agrees with us invading Afghanistan, but the war in Iraq is the cluster screw. I do not support an invasion of a country that did not attack or assist with an attack on my country. period.

makes me want to pull out my hair-universal health would cost nothing---understand nothing---it would actually save money both in the short run and the long run-what it would do is remove the profit from health care and that in this country would be a major sin----smile and enjoy the night

Jesus would have given all his money to the people who needed it and would have healed all the sick so there would have been no need for universal health care.
