My best friend really really likes this guy she met through family [but is not part of the family] and she doesn't know how to say she likes him but she's totally addicted to him . . . She wants to say it but she's too shy and even when I helped her to call him she immediately hung up the phone [while i was holding it!] because he answered... That's how shy she is , i'm trying to tell her to just say it straight up, but she's too afraid to! What else can I tell her?

You can tell her no guts, no glory and walk away. Either she gets the guts or she will never date him.

lol just talk her to and just tell her something like this
you: "what's the worst that could happen if he says no?"
Her: I'll look like a fool etc..
you: But what's the best thing that could happen if he says yes?
Her: but he won't!
you: you don't know that
her: do you know?
(At this point you MAY have to bend the truth.)
you: I might...
at this point she will be completely under your spell and all of her attention is on you since you are giving her hope.
her: did he say something?
you: Well not excactly.. but I can tell he likes you
her: really?
you: yeah.. he's just really shy I bet.
This will give her confidence since she thinks he is in the same situation as her (I know lying is bad but it can be a white lie that eventually helps the two of them become very happy.) If he rejects her, well.. this can be called another crush and she will be mad at everyone for a couple of weeks I guess and cool down after words.

I think you should call this guy and invite him to dinner with your and your friend. She'll go because there's safety in numbers, and he'll go because he'll be with 2 girls. Once you get to the restaurant and you're seated, excuse yourself to go to the bathroom, slip out the back door and leave. Have the hostess give them a message that says, "Three's a crowd. You two have fun and I'll see ya later!"
They'll have no choice but to continue the meal and talk to each other. Just don't pick an expensive restaurant so they can both cover the cost of their meals.

Maybe you could invite a couple of friends over (make sure they are two of them) at the same time. This way he will think that he is just coming over to visit with you and a couple of other friends and there won't be so much pressure. Also, she could see how he reacts around her, does he show interest, does he look at her a lot, and just see what happens. Hope this helps some!! Tell her Good Luck from me!! "+)

If she is that good A friend then you should help just A little. She is Afraid of being turned down. That can be devastating! So you need to go to him and say something to him about her liking him.Tell him the Truth about her shyness. The Truth seems to work more times then not.If he likes her he can ask her out.If not them she doesn't have to here" NO".Its that simple. If it was you, what would she do for you?Do this one little thing for A friend in need.

just tell her to compose herself, take a deep breath and give it a shot. If she doesnt pursue the guy, shell never be with him...if he rejects her, then she hast really lost anything, if she gets him, then thats great. What has she got to lose? She sure as hell wont get him by being timid and not even giving it a shot.
Good Luck.

i guess she would have to be willing to suck it up and tell him. You could always talk to him for her and see if he likes her. if he does he can ask her out. also tell her if she doesnt make a move soon someone else will have him

you know what?
if she's shy telling him she likes him, why dont you tell him?
see what happens..... some people say it to them for others
like if you tell this guy that your friend likes him.... describe her to him and if he agrees, make a schedule or time for them to see each other
i dont know
if that agrees with you
