Begin with telling something about yourself, then talk about why you want to be prefect and what you will do for the students while you have that office. Just be yourself. Keep your speech to not more than 5 minutes. You should be able to say all you need to say within that short time.

you could start out with a question such as: "how do you (plural) feel about "x" subject?" then say how you'd fix those problem(s) and that would probably seal the deal. I've never run for school pres/captain/prefect, (i thought prefect was just a Harry Potter word...silly me, im an American, of course i thought that =P) but i've always like the ones that connect with the audience, not just the people who say "hey!! look at me!! im cool!!!"

you need a strong opening, something that gets everyones attention. It can be serious or funny. Create an outline of what you can contribute to your fellow classmates and school. Don't lie or offer empty promises just to get votes. Don't bash your opponent. Get the crowd pumped up and excited. Get a small team of student supporters help you write a speech, have them ask fellow class mates what qualities they want to see in a candidate and what might catch theur attention. Having a little insite can help. Good luck

I consistently used to get asked if i grew to become right into a instructor. i think that could have had something to do with the reality that I consistently appeared very disillusioned in all and sundry I met. In different words, besides the undeniable fact that, i grew to become into no longer o.k.-universal.
