My middle son (just turned 12) is very white. I want to give him a tan? I would NEVER bring him to a tanning salon, however is there anything I can do, any sunless tanners/lotions or anything?
If you have anything good I can do, please give information!
thanks.

If you're more concerned about his health than his looks, then why would you want to tan him - especially in November? There's nothing healthy about that - physically or emotionally. What's healthy is letting him have his natural skin tone, and stop trying to change him. My extremely healthy (and VERY attractive) husband has naturally fair skin; changing it wouldn't do him any good.
Personally, I think suggesting he change his natural appearance was a bad decision. He's already at an age where if he doesn't already feel awkward, he will soon. It's just going to kill his self esteem even more.
But if HE wants to (after all, he's probably going to feel pretty self conscious now that his "flaw" has been pointed out), use sunless tanner. That's about all you can do.

A glowing tan is very important to 12 year old babes. And, it will make him more attractive to look at so that all the other parents don't think that you are a defective mother. I say take him to the tanning salon. We're only to the middle of November ... I mean, what is the kid gonna look like come February? Just break down and start with the 10 tan package.

Why would you want to do that? Does he have any interest in a tan? I have worked with 11 and 12 year olds for more than 30 years, have a son, and have never heard a boy that age express any interest whatsoever in getting a tan. Do you have a specific reason?

There is nothing wrong with the tanning places as long as you use the lotion and do not over do it. It was the only way I could get a tan. The best way for him is to go to a pool, however it being almost winter in the US anyway you will need to wait until spring since the UV rays are low this time of year. BTW UV rays help the body prod-use vitamin D which may prevent some cancers and help with his bones.

Neutrogena Micromist is the best one I've tried so far, but I liked their foam as well (sadly I can't find it at my local store anymore, not sure if it's still around).
Fake tans are simple to do, and with all the metro behavior, it's totally okay for men to partake in this simple way to look leaner, more defined, and healthier! (My husband steals my sunless tanner all the time, and he's an Officer in the Army!)

Why do you feel he needs a tan? He is twelve and you need to be emphasising a positive body image to him now especially as he is coming into an age of self-awareness.
If you feel strongly about making him "tan" then I think you should speak to your pharmacist about the best "over the counter" brands of tanning lotions that would be safe for a child. Please proceed with caution! I am sure you love your son but this is a pretty tough subject to wade into!

Unless your son is a body builder, why would you bother? Any sunless tanner you put on him will not last considering how boys like to get dirty, etc. It will just get washed off and you will be starting something that will require daily attention. Let him just be and maybe he will end up with a natural tan all on his own.

Well, at age 12, he's old enough to decide whether or not he wants to be pale. If he wants to be tan, you can buy him sunless tanners (Neutrogena makes some good ones). If you're worried he's anemic, rather than make him look less pale, take him to a doctor to see what's up.

Why?
Are you psychotic about white skin or something?
You are forcing the skins protective defense when you do this and it wears your skin out prmaturely.
Why would you go to a tanning salon but not wnat your kid to go?
Sounds hypocritical, and maybe your boy doesnt want a tan like some psycho chick who thinks no one will want her if she isnt tanned.
