Actually, it's called a revers. It's a kick taken from Savate or Boxe Francaise and is a pretty sneaky kick meant to be used with heavy boots on. French sailors from the south of France used it in street fights and on ships at sea in the 19th century. Is it effective? If you'd ever been hit in the chin with a heavy soled boot like I have once, I'd have to say yes.

If you're Cro-Cop,yeah if it's used with enough force and catches the right place like the jaw,chin,or temple then you'll put them to sleep or at least rock them enough to set up for more shots

yes if it hit if it didnt because they jumped to the side they could break the other persons leg buy grabbing it and tossing kicking punching ect.

I don't know what that is but if your opponent is stunned bad enough you land just about anything
