Cats do vomit up hairballs but they are usually not pink. That could imply blood and be much more serious. I don't think I would go to the hairball vet. Check out hairballs on line. I do know my sister puts butter on the pads of her cat and it helps them to upchuck the mess. . .but the pink bothers me. Save some of the vomit and take it with you to the vet along with a stool sample. The other vet should check both for blood. Whenever you doubt any vet or any doctor ALWAYS get a second opinion. If the second vet checks the samples and then says hairballs, just ask the right questions so you know what to expect and when and if not what do you do. Try a little butter on the cats pads. It won't hurt and may help. Hope your kitty gets better and soon.

I would take your kitten to the vet. I would probably take her to the vet that thinks it is a hairball anyway. They (I'm assuming) just said this over the phone without actually looking at the kitten. Once they look at the kitten and give proper tests they will CLEARLY see that it is not hairballs. Tell them everything you said here and then the signs will point to something far more serious than hairballs. I hope you have the best of luck and hope everything turns out okay. Good luck! No kitten should have to go through that :( Poor thing.

over the phone, I've discovered, vets can be VERY wrong! I lost a young puppy to parvo once because the vets told me to wait it out and stop giving him water and food, and it was the worst thing we could have done. he died the next morning. I dont mean to scare you, I completely understand your fear. Since there is blood in her vomit, I would take her to an animal hospital RIGHT away! it could be something way more serious than "hairballs".. you'll never know if you don't take her.
good luck, and I'll keep ur kitty in my prayers.

How much is she vomiting and does it look like coffee grounds? Coffee grounds indicate blood. Pink could be the start of blood perhaps due to aggravating the esophageal lining. I know this is hard but she will probably be alright over night if you prefer to take her to the other vet in the morning. The pink too could be something she has ingested. She needs to be seen though because dehydration is a big factor now.

call the other vet and if you can't get them, then definitely take her to the hairball vet. Just explain to them that you think it's something more serious than a hairball.

at this point i would take her in now just because she's still really young and u said she hasn't been drinking and has been throwing up so she needs fluids or she'll get dehydrated and could die. so yeah. take her in to the hairball vet if only for fluids and if ur not satisfied take her to a diff. vet in the morning

I would take her to the vet even though you don't like them...maybe once they see how sick she is they'll listen to you...Tell them that you think she might have eaten something that she might be allergic to.
Does she have a fever? If her nose is very dry, she might have a bad fever. If it's wet, then there probably is not fever. Usually a very dry nose indicates a fever.
Take her temperature. Do some research on what a normal temp. for a kitten should be.

Please call the vet- any vet. Just see if they will help. Also, remember that the staff of either vet you don't like may be more helpful than you'd think. They aren't the vet, they're the staff. Be nice and cordial, then be stubborn and be obnoxious if you need to be. Don't lose any more sleep and help your kitty.

Why call a vet? They can't diagnose her over the phone - TAKE HER to a vet.
When my pets have been ill I've never called a vet. Very odd.
