There are many places to look for cancer survivor stories, but much depends on which specific disease you are searching for.
You can check online places like caringbridge or carepages . . but most of them are private as people are still going through cancer treatment (many cancer patients have a journal to discuss their treatments and tell their story by on a daily basis).
One public place where you can read about cancer survivors is at the Lance Armstrong Foundatin site:
LiveStrong: Survivor Stories

Read this board. At some point or another most of the regulars here have told their entire story. Search the internet. I would assume chicken soup for the soul prob has a cancer patient edition.
I like this website.. There are some cancer stories, but really its just a collection of inspirational stories and poems, a lil on the religious side but not so much that a non religious person wouldnt enjoy them.

I am also currently reading a book called Moms Marijuana by dan shapiro. It is about his own fight with cancer. Seems to be a good book so far

I'm pretty sure there are stories on the internet.....because of the pain in the neck HIPPA laws, you may not be able to contact a cancer center or hospice and get a name directly, but you might be able to give them your contact info and they could have someone contact you.....
I can tell you mine if you want a novel...I've been thru a ton of stuff in the past 3 years and am still doing chemo....my cancer is not "curable" only treatable, according to my oncologist..............but I plan on proving him wrong!!!!

Talk to a nurse at a VA hospital, or go to your local VFW.
