I had a site for my pump in for 4 days, one more than normal. I took it out, and it was very red all under the site. is it infected, or a reaction to the site because I've never worn one there?

and as a reference, the large "scar like" spot to the lower left is from a 5 day site.

here are 2 pictures:

by pump I mean an insulin pump (I'm diabetic)

and when I took the site out a little white ooze came out, and my mom alway told my to make sure that you get that stuff out of there, so I did, and got maybe 3 or 4 drops of it out.

the skin on top of it feels a lot thinner, as if its blood between two layers of skin. I have my mom look at it tomorrow (shes a nurse, but shes at work now)

Well, it's irritated but I'm not sure about infected. Put some neosporin ointment on it to keep the area free of bacteria, then cover it with a bandaid and I betcha it's better tomorrow. If you spend a day doing the neosporin bandaid thing and you don't feel or see any improvement, you should see a Doctor.

You've got an infection and it will spread to some other part of your body....who knows where! See a doctor! You might have picked up, I think it's MRSA.
My sister's a RN (registered nurse) at St. John's Hospital here in Columbus. She says it's a good possibility. Go to google.com and type in mrsa.

If you are unsure, you need to get it checked out immediately! Go to your doctor first thing in the morning. The pictures were a little fuzzy, but it doesn't look pretty regardless. that needs to be seen by a professional.
