Who are these angels?
Vs 6
And angels who did not keep their own principality but abandoned their own dwelling place, He has kept in eternal bonds under gloom for the judgement of the great day.

A cross reference for these angels is seen in 2 Peter 2:4

For if God did not spare the angels who sinned but delivered them to gloomy pits, having cast them down to Tartarus, they being kept for judgement.

What do you believer these angels have to do with the account in Genesis 6:2 where the sons of God and the daughters of men were married and the breed of men called Nephilims were born.. these mighty men of old.

What do you know of this matter in the word? Please feel free to share on it.

Ty in advance
in Christ

Hello there Hghost... I think that you need to take another look at that verse in Gen 2:6
We see three sets of individuals
The Nephilims
The sons of God
The women

These Nephilims are not the angels but the children from the union of angels and women.. MEN of renoun. It was for this reason that God flooded and judged the earth.
According to this verse, this thing between women and fallen angels has not stopped. Even in Jericho there were Nephilims. THese giants. WHo knows if they continued on today, these last and closing days before the Lord's return.

Sister Warrior,

Yes the angels of whom fell, being 1/3 the host, some did make the unholy union of Genesis 6, mighty men which were of old, men of renown. Giants.

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

I think Jude gives 3 examples of rebellion. The angels of course are the 1/3 part that took sides with satan when he rebelled against God. As we all have learned it is rebellion that separates us from God. When a person says in their heart I will not have that man or (God) in this case, to rule over me, then comes the darkening of the heart. Until the heart of a man or woman becomes like the hardened ground that the Bible says cannot be penetrated by the word. No matter what sin you name, its root can be found in Rebellion. To continue on this path, I think leads a person into apostasy. Jude speaks of the dangers of false teachers. We must Follow the Lords teachings and study them to know when we are being duped. If it doesn't sound quite right find out why.
God bless you sister

Angels are a very confusing issue to me.
They are mentioned in the scriptures you quoted.

They walked as men and ate food as in the story of Abraham and Lot. Yet he called them Lord and worshipped them.

They appeared to people in dreams. Joseph when he was going to break up with Mary for being pregnant with Jesus.

They execute judgement upon sinners. The "angel of death" killed the first born in Exodus and again killed Israelites with a deadly plague when David took the census.

They have given unworldly visions to the saints of old. Daniel and John when he received his Revelation and at that time told John not to worship him.

In the scripture you mentioned, Gen. 6:2, they seem to have come down to earth at will and had sex with human women. But that doesn't match other scripture where Jesus said to the Sadduces concerning the woman who had 7 husbands. He said when we die and be with Him we won't marry but we will be as the angels. I don't think it's inconceivable to infer from that passage that angels don't have sex, that that belongs to this world alone. So how could the "angels" of Gen. 6:2 have been the angels Jesus was speaking about??

In view of that thought, in Revelations, Jesus writes 7 letters to the 7 "angels" of the churches. I infer from those letters that he is writing to people, preferably to the church leaders yet he calls them angels.

I haven't a clue what they are or where they are kept if they are bad. That's my opinion. God bless you if you do. lol

Oh, you imply America a.okay.a. the New World Babylon? It blows, lemme inform ya! The Bible sounds just like the excellent poetic device to make use of within the military, due to the fact that it makes it possible for the brutes to suppose in an almighty being that is on a no-questions-requested rampage of "righteousness." The angels which kept not their first estate in Jude 1:6 would be Lucifer, and the angels that followed him, which were one third of Heavens angels, for he, "Lucifer" exalted himself above God, for he was the most beautiful angel God created, and thus with that beauty, pride and vanity caused his fall, and God cast them down into hell, he and his followers.
Now this has nothing to do with the account in Genesis 6:2
But read on down to verse 4 and study how that had to do with the giants that there were in those days.

And the Angels ( sons of god ) who left their positions of authority ( jobs / commissions) and abandoned their place of habitation /home / abode. These He has kept in darkness. These are the fallen angels, the ones that have followed satan and his ways. Yes , they came to earth without being born of woman. Against God's wishes. These fallen angels are called Nephilims and they they impregnated the earthly women and bore them sons. These offspring are not the Nephilims , their fathers were the nephilims the offspring were called Gibbers, which mean "different" They were noted as " men of renown" proud, evil and violent. And that is why God sent a REGIONAL flood to kill these hybrids. And only regional (indigenous) animals were taken aboard the ark. You are VERY astute. Great question.
HGHOSTIN These angels are called sons of God. When the scriptures mention sons of god if you will notice that when the "S" in Sons is capitalized it denotes that it refers to the angels that were loyal to god and fought against satan. If the "s" in sons of God are lower case then it refers to the fallen angels. Or sometimes man in the flesh. We were ALL angels or In our spiritual bodies if you will at one time. And all god's created people are sons or Sons of God.

I am sure you realize that Satan was once Lucifer, the Angel of Light. His sin was pride, and the other angels that followed him in his sinful pride are the ones spoken of in the passage.

Jude is giving examples of rebellion against God's ways. He is warning humans that while we are free to rebel, there will be consequences. After all, if there were consequences even for angels who were disobedient, there will be consequences for us, too.

The early church used the book of Enoch and it was considered scripture by some. Over 100 quotes or ideas are from this writing and this is one of them. Jesus seems to use idea's from it. The book of Jude is almost completely from it and Peter is one and yes Gen. 6 is related. Remember Jude is Jesus brother.I have the book on my computer and it is on the internet.
It was lost for a long time until manuscripts were found in monasteries in the 1800's. The dead sea scrolls uncovered other copies much earlier. Once you read it you will come to some conclusions that they are beings from another planet.
I have read the early church writings extensively and I see that they believed in it and wrote accordingly.
I have it on my computer but you can get it on line I am sure.
