Ok, I'm going to have to get some anesthitic for my teeth (dental issues) done soon, I've heard they use a needle to inject the site. I HATE NEEDLES! I've never had a needle used on me before. I mean, I scream when someone on "House: MD" gets injected! I feel faint just thinking about it! I feel like a wussy cat. Help appreciated!

Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I am a nurse and I am terrified of needles. I am so freaked out when one of my co workers has to give me a flu shot or TB test or annual blood tests, I about crap.
Everyone is afraid of needles. We all just have to suck it up.

Well, some people reckon to get over a fear to do the worst thing re: the fear. e.g. scared of heights, go up to the top of a skyscraper kind of thing. Needles, maybe go for acupuncture? Actually, I don't think I'd do that. Maybe go with someone who can keep your mind off of it, and then close your eyes before any needle is ever opened, and imagine something calming. Some people like ocean scenes. If they allow you, maybe have some headphones on with music, so you can't hear what they're saying or doing, such as "please pass me the needle...". [This is what I've heard people say, never tried it myself. I usually just look the other way when getting blood taken & close my eyes when getting my teeth done.]

My brother hates going to the dentist so whenever he gets an appointment he tells his dentist he needs something to calm his nerves and the dentist will give him 2 pills to take before he comes in but someone else has to drive I guess they are nerve pills cause he is very calm before going in and it helps the dentist get his job done.
