I am making a lemon frosting and I want to know if I can make it ahead of time and if so how do I store it? Thanks!

Here is a good recipe. A good lemon cream frosting can keep in the fridge up to 6 days and up to 6 months in the freezer. Happy Baking!

Lemon Buttercream Frosting
1/3 c. butter
4 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. fresh lemon juices
1/2 tsp. finely shredded lemon peels
Steps
1Step OneBeat butter in a mixing bowl until it is fluffy.
2Step TwoAdd 2 c. of the powdered sugar gradually, beating constantly.
3Step ThreeSlowly beat in lemon juice, lemon peel and vanilla.
4Step FourSlowly beat in the rest of the powdered sugar. If necessary, add a little more lemon juice if frosting is not spreadable.
5Step FiveUse immediately.
Tips & Warnings
You can keep this frosting in the refrigerator up to six days and in the freezer up to six months.

As long as it's not royal icing, yes, you can store it in an airtight container at room temp. Stir again before using.

put it in a cup or bowl or whatev and put on ceran wrap and then put it in your fridge
