ok this is a commenly mistakin form of identity, The Army SF...'Speacil Forces', is none other than the, 'Green Berets'(which there soilders are not called Green Berets, they are not hats there highly trained profissional soilders)
So too those of you stating that the Army has more than 1 'SF' you are inferably wrong...Delta, Rangers, etc, are Special Operation Forces, not the Special Forces
Thx for your comments

Ok I'm only talking about the 'Green Berets', i.e. Army Special Forces and the SEAls(not DEVGRU, the seal teams)

The SEALs are great at d.a. and s.a. operations and can do foreign internal defense, but the skill that sets them apart is the fact they can work up a plan for an op while enroute to it. S.F. on the other hand has a level of training second to none hands down S.F. has more in depth training and skill sets, then add in cross training in the teams and you have some serious training and skills. There is no way to fully answer your question and anyone who does is just trying to make themselves look cool. 1 last thing for lord van what ever..... SF is SF Rangers are Rangers and Delta is Delta seemed like you skipped the SF guys in your answer

Which Army SF? There's Rangers and Delta Force...
Rangers are deployed the most often, SEALs are the ones you hear about the most, both because of their importance and because we lose more of them in combat, and Delta is extremely secretive, but also the best. If anyone tells you what the training segment is for Delta, they're lying because there are only a handful of people that know the actual requirements, and they change after every group has gone through.
Delta is the best, but all three are extremely important. (See below)
SEALs weakened the defenses of Guadalcanal in WW2, and several other islands.
Rangers scaled the cliffs at Utah beach and were one of the primary forces in Somalia.
1: Delta (Army)
2: SEALs (Navy)
3: Rangers (Army)
Additionally, Delta recieves extra training on driving/piloting the enemy's vehicles and special techniques for using their weapons, and also have access to every single type of weapon in the world from the M14 to the HK416.
After your update, the obvious answer is SEALs, or at least that's what you'd think...
-BUT!-
You have to be selected to even be eligible to make ANY form of Rangers, Green Berets, Delta, etc, though you can try out for SEALs any time. 90% of the applicants that are cut are cut because of medical issues- not because they didn't make the grade.
Hope this helps you

Ok...first off...SPECIAL FORCES refers to Green Berets...SPECIAL OPERATIONS refers to SEALs, Delta, etc etc etc. Second of all, Marine force recon is pretty good, but they cannot compare to SEALs or Delta. SEALs are the best for waterborn operations or operations that take place near water, like a coastline, dock, coastal town, something like that. USA SF are kind of jacks of all trades. Pound for pound, a veteran SEAL may be able to beat out a Green Beret by a slim margin, but Special Forces does MUCH MUCH more than the SEALs do. And im not even sure if the SEALs could take the SF.
Besides, Delta is the best (at land born operations, DevGru is best at water born operations)

The honest answer is both. Each one is specifically trained for the mission they were designed for. Army SF is larger and more coherent in a conventional military application, and therefore has far more extensive experience and training in regards to this than SEALs. SEALs are principally for Underwater demolitions and ship-boarding. They have land-based skills, but not in the conventional setting like Army SF. So they are both highly skilled at what they are designed to do, yet neither can clearly be better trained than the other, as there is no measure to compare.

Part of the answer depends on the task at hand. The SEALS are great, but I'm thinking of a certain fiasco that really called for the army rangers. Different tools for different jobs. I certainly wouldnt call an Airborne unit to do any sort of underwater welding.

You forgot to mention Seal Team 6. I think Seals are good then the Green Beret guys. If you put a Green Beret in water for a long time, he will get cold & drown. BUT, if you put a Seal in the water, they will be the best swimmer & a killer.

Army SF or green berets (they're the same thing) are better in my eyes. 1 guy went through sf school then went to ranger school to get a ranger tab and quit cause he said it was to easy. crazy motherf***** right there.

Special Forces have a more "in-depth role". They train local indiginous forces to fight for themselves, and do missions simular to the SeALs role.
Navy SeALs tend to be more striker oriented.

Hands down, First, the S.E.A.L.s and then the Marine Corps Force Recon. The Army has literally thousands of "Special Forces," But if you REALLY want to be something special (read elite) go S.E.A.L. or Recon!
