I am truly amazed at how many people, even "Christians" themselves, do not know what a true Christian is!. There is so much confusion and most people think its being good and helping others!. (i am a Christian myself and yes a true one)
True Christianity (and what will really get you into heaven) is accepting that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and asking for forgiveness of all of your sins.
A Christian is not someone who simply goes to church and does good deeds, that does not make you a Christian.
"The Bible teaches us that the good works we do cannot make us acceptable to God. Titus 3:5 tells us that it is “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.” So, a Christian is someone who has been born-again by God (John 3:3; John 3:7; 1 Peter 1:23) and has put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8 tells us that it is “by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” A true Christian is someone who has repented of his or her sin and put faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone. Their trust is not in following a religion or a set of moral codes, or a list of do’s and don’ts.
A true Christian is a person who has put his or her faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ and fact that He died on the cross as payment for sins and rose again on the third day to obtain victory over death and to give eternal life to all who believe in Him. John 1:12 tells us: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Christ. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2:4; 1 John 2:10)."

A Christian is a follower of Christ. A Christian seeks out his faith through action. A Christian tries to set an example of good, patience, love, humility and many other things. If a person does not act out his faith in following Jesus Christ, than that person has dead faith.

A Christian is a person who believes that Jesus died for their sins. That's it. Whether they devote their lives or don't do one iota of it doesn't matter. Most people only give lip service to it anyway.

A Christian is someone who believes that Jesus Christ is the son of God and has accepted Christ as their personal Saviour.
Does that mean a Christian is perfect no not by far we ALL fall short of the Glory of God the difference Christians are covered by the blood of Christ God sees us as perfect because of the blood of Christ. When Christians fall and make mistakes they break their relationship with God until that Christian restores that relationship through prayer and forgiveness from God.
Anyone can be saved by the blood of Christ all they have to do is ask for Christ to be in their life invite him and believe he is your Saviour and he will cover you as well.
Our purpose is to become more Christ like in this lifetime but we know that will not come full circle until we are with him in heaven so for now all we can do is the best we can to be more Christ like and that is easier said then done especially when you have so many that want to criticize your every mistake and claim you are a hypocrite but we are in good company Christ was spit on beaten to a bloody pulp and crucified for us to be saved so I can take it when the world wants to point fingers and criticize me for my mistakes because the one I am tiring to please is Christ not them.

A true Christian is more devoted to others than they are to themselves. Christians should strive to be unselfish. It has nothing to do with being devoted to excellence.
Do no harm.

A Christan, in the true sense, is someone who is a Representative of the Almighty. A true child of God, a Disciple of God. A lover of all people with a passion to make a difference in this world for God.
Someone who is pure and loves God with all their heart. Someone who desires to be all God wants them to be. A reaper of souls for Christ. To glorify the almighty and his kingdom.
And to know the importance of the cross and what it represents!

'A person who is devoted to excellence'
It's nice to find someone who understands that. It's what we strive for but few achieve.
