Did my entire 9 years during the Cold War. 27 months at the west end of the Fulda Gap at Fleigerhorst Kaserne. There were approx. 100 tactical nukes in the bunkers for use against The Soviet Army. I cannot remember anyone talking bad about Russians even then. Germans were, the French were, that was it.

Did not hear Pres. Putins speech. I did hear he is not happy about NATO troop movements. He has a very tough job and has not done that bad despite having to revert a bit.

Russia is not our enemy , same with China. It's economics now. The fact that he knows what the new NATO members went thru under the Soviet system is what makes him uneasy.

Russia, China and the west are like bickering brothers. They talk big, show some muscle, maybe put you in a headlock. Then they shake hands and make up till the next noogy. I still predict they join NATO in 15 to 20 years.

I trust the Russian people. I'm not sure about Vladmir Putin. I always wonder if he is getting advice from folks like Zheranovsky or the members of "Pemyat".

I don't trust Putin at all. He is trying very hard to go back to the ways of the USSR. I'm glad that he has lost half his empire and the population of Russia is shrinking.

Russia has no democratic (or even rational) tradition as we in the West know it. If we would accept Russian government, and their people, for what they are like, there would be less wishful thinking, and more mutual understanding between East and West. And maybe a firmer EU policy versus Russia.

Bush looked Putin in the eye and said he saw a good soul. He must have been wearing blinders. Maybe evil only sees good in evil.

I trusted them so much I helped build the computers that designed the nukes we would use on them back in '85....

This speech is the SOSDD....no different than the ones in 1985.

The bad news is that the ACLU has been true to it's COMMUNIST roots...and has the goal of undermining the US and what it stands for.

Sure. Putin is pretty hot. Maybe they will resort back to the former Soviet Union? Just not as corrupt.

Nope! And I do not believe they're a fallen country by any means. They still have the second greatest military and superior weapons. The Soviet Union supplied our enemies and Israel's enemies with munitions through Syria and Iran. Watch out for both Russia and China.

I think that Putin is suping up Russia to be big and bad again to try to defeat us since they lost the cold war. My opinion is that Russia and China will and possibly Iran will unite to defeat us.
