Christian Fundamentalists are people who try to live the scriptures. We are often called "Fundies" by different folks here on the Yahoo Answers board, sometimes sarcastically, sometimes seriously.

We try to keep to the scriptures as they are written. They were presented to the people of their day in everyday terms because Christianity was intended to be for the masses of people. The rules are simple. They describe what is good and what is evil. They describe the behaviors God finds pleasing, and encourage us to perform them.

We have little tolerance for sin, but great compassion and love for the sinners. After all, we are all sinners, are we not?
We all fall short of perfection.

Sin is anything that does not please God, and in our human bodies, we are often tempted to do selfish things, and sometimes indeed do succumb to those temptations.

God understands our imperfection, and gave us a way to stay pleasing in His sight. He offered us, by His Grace and Mercy, the gift of Forgiveness. Our sin is wiped away, never to be spoken of thought of again. All we have to do is relinquish ourselves to Jesus, God's only son.

We try to be led by Jesus, rather than the selfishness of our human nature.

These are fundamental beliefs of Christianity, thus the name "Christian Fundamentalist".

"Fundamentalist Christianity, or Christian fundamentalism, is a movement that arose mainly within British and American Protestantism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by conservative evangelical Christians, who, in a reaction to modernism, actively affirmed a fundamental set of Christian beliefs: the inerrancy of the Bible, Sola Scriptura, the virgin birth of Christ, the doctrine of substitutionary atonement, the bodily resurrection of Jesus, and the imminent return of Jesus Christ."
