blue heeler puppies?

Question

my female blue heeler, ahd 8 pups, oct 26th, within the last few days, maybe week, she hasnt been wanting to feed them,if they try and eat, she will stand up and jump out of the whelping box, with them still hanging on. she will go to then if the cry, but that is it, she isnt paying to much attention to them anymore, what should i do? i have bottle feed on the the runts, but the other dont get to eat as much. isnt it to early for her to wean them?

Yes, it is way to early for them to be weaned. You might want to check into getting some puppy replacer...for nutrition but after you feed them it is important that they get the dog to dog bonding. This will prevent neurotic dogs in the future...especially those herding dogs. :p Hope this helps.

well have you been letting her out and away from the puppies every once in a while? that might help . and maybe it is not i dont know that much about the puppies other than they are almost 4 weeks old. you might get them some canned food for them to eat.

3 1/2 weeks- teeth are comming in OUCH.
TIme to supplement with a bit of puppy gruel - try and get her to feed some but give gruel too in about a week if she is still reluctant just wean

I was Fostering puppies and a mom dog and they were just like that. the puppies wouldn't leave her alone. The mothers only leave the puppies because The puppies are sucking on her and its like taking her life and her strength away from the mother.

MAKE THE DOG LAY DOWN AND FEED THEM....TIE HER SO THAT SHE CANT GET UP SHE HAS TO FEED THEM
