You need to refrigerate the canned pumpkin in a tightly covered container (NOT the can) if it has been opened. You do NOT need to refrigerate the pie after it is made and cooked, only the UNCOOKED filling.

If the can is not opened, you can keep it in the pantry. Once it is open, however, it should be refrigerated for food safety. It may not need it, but I think I'd feel like I'm doing everything I can for safety by keeping ti cold.

It will keep at room temp a day or so. If you plan to keep it longer, I'd refrigerate it. Either way, cover tightly in plastic wrap.

Once it's open, it has to be refrigerated.
The pie should be refrigerated too.
