I heard that you can sign up for the navy, but belong to a division such as the 82nd airborne, meaning that you can be a paratrooper in the navy. i would like to go to the army for he chance to go to the 82nd (or any airborne unit for that much). The reason why i liked the idea when i heard it was because my father agreed to sign my papers at 17 if i go to the navy rather than the army. If you can be a parachuter in the navy, what division does it have to be? Do you also need to know a foreign language if you go to a parachuting regiment? And by the way, im 15 if that helps.
Thanks

Nope. Separate services.

You may have heard about Air Force Weathermen, or Combat Controllers who are assigned to Army Airborne units. But there is no Navy equivalent.

You could become a Navy Corpsman and serve with the Marines.

I say, just wit until you're 18 and enlist in the Army with the Airborne option.

Hooah.

There are special jobs in the military that involve inter-branch operations. In my job as an Air Force *** (wont specify) I could be tasked to work out of an Army Black Hawk or even in a Navy **-* (wont specify).
I'm not sure of any specific ones in the Navy but I would guess they would be SIGINT or COMINT related. I'm not sure that they would involve JUMPING OUT of an aircraft. Divisions like the 82nd and the 101st arent JUST Airborne. They are fully fuctioning military units with several aspects to their missions. I've never heard of a foreign language requirement for Airborne units.
Good luck

Take a look at the Navy "Seals". At 15.......if you want to be a "badass"..stay in school..keep up your physical education (that's important because the test requires skills and strength that average people won't put out). If you can make it through the first week of training...You will be subjected to all the things you describe. Easier said than done. I disagree with your Dad about the Army. We taught the Navy guys and the Air Force guys how to survive in hostile environments. The Marines.? They're just a bunch of Jarheads..jus' kiddin" and they know it. Stay in school..get an education..and be an officer. The training is the same but you will learn how to command.

Nope. Only the Navy SEALS jump out of perfectly functioning aircraft for a living. There are no paratrooper divisions or units in the Navy.

Im a SSG in the Army... the Navy does NOT have a Airborne brigade or battalion. If you wanna be overseas and airborne in the Navy... try out for S.E.A.L.S!
