I'm just curious what you all think. I'm 17, yet I feel the urge to wear a shirt and tie everyday. I went to high school where I had to do that, but now that I'm in college, I've continued the tradition. I mean, I would dress differently, but I don't want to, and refuse to be influenced by group dynamic pressure.

Go with it. :) You'll look professional.
I'm a girl that personally likes the look of a guy with a tie. lol
My boyfriend looks soooooo CUTE with one on and I'm sure there are girls that think the same of you. ;)

Not weird. It's what you are comfortable in and it does project an image. I'm sure you get a reaction out of it from your peer group and from others too. When the crowd is full of skaters and punks, then the guy in the shirt and tie is the rebel. You bad. woohoo!
I say the same thing about people my age all riding around on expensive Harleys. If everyone has a Harley including my dentist and your grandma, then who is the rebel.
Carry on.

Plenty of professionals wear shirt and tie every day, and if you think of your study as a job then its entirely appropriate!
I'm from Australia and here we tend to advocate doing what makes you comfortable (so long as its legal!)
Basically, do what makes you happy and comfortable.
I also agree with Queen, Guys look cute in shirt and tie, especially when all the other blokes are looking daggy!

So you're more comfortable in a shirt and tie? Be yourself, dude. There will always be someone around who wants to change you. If you bow down to peer pressure over something as insignificant as the clothes that you choose to wear; you will bow down to other pressures as well.

It think of you will in all probability stay as a guy for 365 days earlier you commence taking hormones. It think of thats the way it works.

do what you feel comfortable with... If you like dressing in a shirt and tie then do it... Be who you want to be not what you think others want you to be.

Dressing up can impart some false confidence. In college, you need all the confidence you can get, false or not. :-) If you're happy with the way you dress, then don't worry what the others think.
