A relationship is alot of hardwork...but making it happen is not that hard if you both have great personailties that work well together and that you get on well as a couple, being able to laugh at the same things or silly things, like to talk to each other about things, even when you are both silent there is still that comfortable feeling and not awkward, you know each other inside out and that you trust each other with your life.

Based on trust, honesty, loyalty, values, morals etc but the key element to any relationship and making it work is communication, openess and understanding of each other. Being able to communicate anything any everything to your partner even if you think it is silly or may think that he will think that you are silly and when you do tell him and he laughs and you can both laugh about it thats what makes you closer and you know that he is a keeper.

Being able to be open with your partner, trusting that partner enough to confide or tell everything to makes the bond between the two of you even closer and that there's nothing to hide or there is nothing you want to hide from each other and that what makes a relationship work.

If a guy doesn't stay and you feel that you have put alot of effort and energy into the relationship then take it as a learning experience that he obviously wasn't the one for you and it was not mean't to be.

1. Pick the right guy. Does he love you so much?
2. Re-define forever. That's a long time...love until as long as mutual respect and love is returned.

Outside of that, keep up with your own interests and take care of yourself...then the relationship can grow.

Good luck!

Well if it's going to work it will. Just have fun together and do things that interest you both. I have been married for 13 yrs and you just have to find common ground with each other and be open and honest about pretty much eveything no matter how hard it may be. Plus to have a good sex life really helps too.

Then be willing to make sacrifices for the relationship and make sure he wants a long term as well. You have to compromise with him on many things because that is one of the basic parts of any relationship. Just be yourself around him as well because if you dont and he eventually finds out what you are really like he might leave you. Being yourself is the best thing to do and dont be afraid to tell him how you feel.

I recommend a book called "The passion trap" by Delis. It's has great advice on how to keep your relationship equal.

"The more deeply one partner falls in love, the more distant the other becomes. (the book) shows you how to change the patterns that threaten your relationship."

Even though the book is written for people experiencing problems in their relationships, I think gives great advice so that your boyfriend won't become "bored" or loose interest.

A relationship defined as both persons wanting to work together. Without both persons putting their all into it it will never work. You both need to be open and honest with each other and trust each other. Please never lie to each other because if one or the other finds out that you lied then it's pretty much destroyed the relationship.

nobody keeps anything. It's got to be mutual, so if it's really love then you got a good chance but nothing comes easy, it takes work too, on both sides. And there's no guarantees.

There is no way you can "keep" a guy but just follow the rules: No cheating and do not fuel fights unless yu have good reason.

Ahhhh. That's so sweet. Try telling him that for starters. Then remember, the little things in life take you WAY past the big ones.
