Can you please tell me about why you think He exists? Any proof? (Please don't say "it's what I believe so He exists in my faith" or something like that) People keep on saying "there's proof He exists," but they just ironically stop at that and doesn't state the proof. Well, I'm asking this question to know that.

People are often refering to the Bible... Well, the Bible is, like any other books, a book written by human beings. How do we know that things in the Bible are true and that they are not just made up?

By the way, to all those people who are saying God has to exist because he created life... Well, it just sounds illogical to me that he can just blow life into human beings (honestly, no offense but it sounds ridiculous), but on the other hand, Evolution makes sense. Lipids and water come together to make the first cell ever, it starts to reproduce asexually (notice that asexual involves only one organism splitting into two, sexual reproduction is not the only kind of reproduction), and all of that continues on... My thought are the same as that of users Me AM and THA.

Of course god exists. Humans have been creating countless versions of him from time immemorial. If we created them, they must be real.

It's odd though: for some reason, the ones who call themselves believers claim that all the gods that came before and after theirs are false but the god of their particular religion is real and true. If they disbelieve thousands and only believe one, aren't they closer to atheists than to believers?

In the words of Stephen Roberts:

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."

It's like Anon and the other say. Close your eyes what do you see, look at the sky on a cler day. I get tickled about the "big bang" theory. Like how did the big rock get there and blow up and then no one has even found the birdman or fishguy or... I suggest as the rest that you invest in a good expository study Bible that no only gives you the word of God, but helps you understand. There's also the book How satan turned America against God by Rev. William Grady, it's something else. Scope out say 700club.com, jsm.com, Swrc.com and many more, but you must make up your own mind and might not hurt to go to a church service. Take care.

The reason I believe in God, or my "proof" as you would say, is this:

1.) There's no way there COULDN'T be a God. Even Einstein knew there had to be a God. He may not believe in the God Christians believed in, but he knew there had to be a higher power. I quote Einstein: "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind."

All this didn't just exist from nowhere. Let's say the universe always been here. Life hasn't. Where did life come from? What/who created life? Why isn't everything that was created breathing? Why don't dirt, rocks, or the sun have life? Life exists in us and animals and plant-life, etc. Life comes from somewhere. In order for life to reproduce, we need to have sex. Sex involves two beings. Which two beings started this reproduction process? It had to start somewhere, right? If life didn't start from reproduction, where did it begin and why isn't it starting without reproduction?

2.) Jesus was a real man. He's my perfect proof of God. He was written not in the ONE book the Bible, but the several historical writings from several authors on different continents and at different times gathered into one. Not to mention the several historical writings apart from the Bible.

In my opinion, we have more proof he IS real rather than proof he's NOT.

What kind of proof do you need? Different people will see the same thing each in his/her own way. I wish I could prove to you and others that He really does exist but I really don't know how. I can give you examples of why I believe or why others believe but it really comes down to an issue of faith. If you're seeking concrete proof I doubt if you'll find it. If you are hoping to find God then I sincerely hope you find what you're looking for in a way that will make it real to you.

There's no proof. That's the beauty of religion, of something spiritual--is that it's only as real to you, right now, as you believe it to be. How can it be real and effect your life if you don't give it a bit of thought? It's something have to choose to follow despite proof. That's what's special about it. I think if there were solid proof all over the place of God's existence (or not), the mysteries of the universe would be solved, and then we'd blow up for lack of anything truely significant to argue about.

I guess it's kind of like Freddy Kruger..or however you spell it. If you don't believe it and it's not tangible, how can it exist for you?

Is it nonsense to conclude that a painting must have a painter. This is the argument that applies whether the theory of evolution is true or not. I suggest you go outside the scope of Christianity to try and find what views ring true to you. Read up on philosophy and other religions. One thing you can safely conclude is that if there is a God no one will prove his existence unless he allows it. Contemplate this... would not your desire to choose between right and wrong be heavily compromised if at every moment you could look up and see God... this life, if it is a test, would become invalid.

You are not likely to get a substantive answer to this most interesting question (and certainly there isn't any in any of the previous responses). Noted Catholic theologian Hans Kung, in a lengthy dissertation on the subject [ref. 1], concluded that neither the existence nor non-existence of god could be proven on the basis of logic or evidence. (Not surprisingly, he chose to believe the affirmative, explicitly acknowledging that it was a choice.) Although proof may be lacking, evidence on the matter is not; all of it supports the proposition that there is no such thing [ref. 2].

I think different people find proof in different things. Some are fortunate enough to witness God directly but others build their faith through the bible, attending church, and praying. Others assume that God exists because they're unable to find any other way to understand the universe. If more information on faith and God is what you want, I suggest you pick up a bible.

You can't see the wind, but it exists. How? There's no proof...you can't 'capture' it to show it to someone. But it's there. The same thing with God...those who know Him, feel Him and know He's there. You can't 'see' Him anymore than you can see the wind. But guess what...you can only feel the wind, as well. Just because wind seems 'invisible' in it's state, doesn't mean it's fake or not there. We just can't see it. We can depict it on screens, but can't see it in itself. The same thing with God...the Bible says He is Spirit. So, with that being the case...that'd be pretty absurd for a human to be able to see a Spirit, don't you think? The Bible refers to "Him" as "He", because it is in the sense of a Father and His children/creations. However, God is neither male nor female...

You won't find 'proof' of God anywhere...that is, physical proof that your eyes can see. Those who are believers...see everything on earth and in nature as God's creations. Believing in God takes faith, and those who don't believe...their lack of faith blocks them from even seeking after God. As the Bible says...He that comes to God must believe that He IS God. So...that kind of defeats the purpose if you don't believe. It's not a wonder that many don't 'feel' Him at all. He doesn't go where He's not welcome...God prefers that we are open to Him and choose Him, rather than Him forcing us to follow Him. That wouldn't be love if we were puppets....

The Bible recognises the existence of the Canaanite god Ba'al in several places. The truth is that Christian monotheism originated in the deserts of Egypt which was formerly Polytheist. Hence the early followers were on very close guard for the old influences. In later times the Egyptian ideas were tempered with the ideas of Zoroastrianism with its bi-polar right/wrong mentality which remains the lynchpin of Christian morality to this day. Before that it was simple obedience hence Commandments, Deuteronomy etc.
