My ex abused me physically from may through august. I didnt press charges back then because i was scared at what he would do to me. Is it too late now to press charges??

It took place May 2007 through August 2007. He hit me, punched my head, choked me, pulled my hair, pushed me down numerous times *once from behind after jumping out a window*, slammed my leg in a car door, twisted my fingers trying to grab my keys, spit in my face etc. I already have a no contact order for aggrivated harrassment against him.. i want to press charges for the abuse.. is it too late??

I took pictures on my phone, he deleted them. I didn't report it because i was scared of what he would do to me. I have friends who have seen the brusies on me. Would that help with the report?

No - it is not too late.
Go to the Police Station and file a report.

You have until the statute of limitations runs to file a complaint, but as others have said, as a practical matter you may have no proof. The fact that you took pictures on your cell phone may save you though. I have friends who have been able to contact the phone carrier and they were able to recover deleted photos through the cell phone company. If you have the approximate dates, they may be able to help you. The photos will be date stamped as of the day you took them, so there will be a point of reference in time.

It's not too late, but you have to have proof that he did these things.
if you had reported it at the time, there would have been bruises, maybe witnesses, maybe the police would have recommended a visit to the hospital... Now it's just your word against his, and the first thing his lawyer is going to say is "If you were so battered, why did you wait so long to report it?"

It's not too late legally, but from a practical standpoint it may be impossible to prove since there are no bruises, police reports, or anything like that. (Unless you did a Nicole Simpson and took pictures and hid them from him)

i know sex crimes have no reporting time requirements.but i think if you can get hospital or counsellors reports you would have a better chance.i dont know about time requirements 4 sure.get a counsellor if you havent got one(family support services are a good place to start)they can listen 2 you and also go to court with you.take care.stay safe.and well done 4 gettin yourself away from him.

It's too late. If he hits you again, then you can report it but only if you have proof or a witness. My ex shot himself (but didn't die) and I couldn't file a restraining order to keep him away from me because he didn't hurt me!

Do it tomorrow. If you have any photos of injuries that will help, but they will still take a report. Stay away from him!!
