we both know each other for sometimes, and we chat many times. He asked for for date, it will be our first date. Is it okey to watch movies? what about if he asked to go privately. HOw can i say no that would not offend him.

please dont go to the movies --- its not really somewhere to talk and get to know each other --- find a nice spot (public place) --- get some snacks and something to drink and enjoy the scenery ---- have fun

It depends on the movie. If you think the movie is something that you really want to see then why not.
Actually, it's his problem where he will take you, He should know that everything will depend on first date.
If he brings you to place that you dont want to be, then just say "no". no need to explain anything or give any reasons.
