God is NOT a man !

This Hebrew Amen is derived from the root [aman], which means to be firm or solid in the sense of permanency. Thus by implication, it means to be sure, true or faithful. So whenever we see this word Amen used in scripture, it is affirming truth, or illustrating something is said that is of absolute certainty. We can get a better understanding of the word in looking at the way God uses it in a slightly different context than we normally would see it. Here [amen] is used as a title for God, illustrating His faithfulness to His promises.

You are again very wrong. God is a true living spirit God who is in heaven.

We say " amen" to affirm or confirm that the prayer is a prayer than came form our heart, deep inside our heart and we really mean the prayers to God.

amen

a·men [ay mén, aa mén]
interjection
1. so be it: said or sung at the end of a prayer or hymn to affirm its content
2. expressing strong agreement: used to express strong agreement
amen to that

noun (plural a·mens)
affirmation in prayer: an indication, at the end of a prayer or hymn, that the person praying or singing affirms its content

Amen means let it be so. We say amen as a way of saying we want this to be so, or so be it.

The word "Amen" comes from the Mesopotamian phrase "Anagoo" which is derived from the Neanderthal expession: "AHEEE!" which translates into: "FINALLY!" As if to say the person talking would never shut up.

While funny, no. I think Pastor Art is close, but I was taught amen means "may it be so."

Nope.

"Amen" comes from a Hebrew word which means, "I agree".
