Some interesting stuff, although the early lessons are a bit Platonic -- world of shadows concept, which verges on gnosticism. The idea of the early lessons seems to be to break old patterns of thinking (a good thing) by saying that my thoughts, rooted in the past, are meaningless. Perhaps they are, in a totally objective sense, but, at the same time, I think God has given me my past for a reason and it shapes who I am.

I think I would take some issue with the idea that the purpose of my life is forgiveness. I'm more of the mind that my purpose is to be in intimate relationship with God and that forgiveness is a product of that.

Rick Warren's 'Purpose Drive Life' is very similar in some respects. 'Miracles' isn't bad, but I prefer Warren.

to Jesus M -- sorry to disagree, but miracles happen every day. That's why Jesus (the original) told us to pray for ANYTHING. I suspect the reason we don't see or recognize them is because we don't live close enough to the edge. We have this cushion of affluence which insulates us from direct, conscious dependence on God.

I think miracles happen every day. When someone has been diagnosed with Cancer. And has their brothers and sisters pray for them, then go back to find that there is nothing there. I think that is a miracle. I do however feel that Jesus preformed the greatest miracles while he walked the earth. But I have seen men and women who were addicted to drugs then the Lord saved them and they no longer needed or wanted them, I see that as a miracle. Or an alcoholic never needing another drink, how could that not be miraculous.

Nowadays, there are no more true miracles. True Miracles were done by Jesus alone.
