Your Mom is his WIFE you are his step-daughter, and Yes he is just trying to teach you responsibility. If you want the cell phone, then just plan on paying the bills. It's a small taste of "Real Grown Up Life".

he is also her husband, and in marriage that is usually what happens. So get over it and pay a cell phone bill. I have been paying my own bill for the last 5 years. You have more privacy and rights that way anyway. You would be better off. and you do learn from it cuz once you go over and realize how much it costs then you will learn. If you get the right plan, they are not that expensive.

he pays your moms bill because marriage is a joint union of assets. Making those household expenses. You having a phone just to keep up with you friends is privledge there for since there is no practical need for it you want it you pay it! someday when you become a part of the real world you will see your bills=your responsibilty or if you do get married that of you and your husband

It's his decision to pay for what he wants. Besides, it's important for parents to have cell phones in cases of emergency. For teenagers, it's mostly just a way to rack up a $1000 bill so they can text each other. Use a landline or payphone or pay the bill yourself. He's not obligated to pay it for you.

Can you afford perhaps $40 a month? That seems to be the going rate these days... with or without rollover.

Your mom is a whole nother thing... she is one of two parents in the house. Your mom is his wife. You are the kid.

Start poking around for jobs a young person can do... if you can't find a retail or food-related job, consider doing odd-jobs around the neighborhood. Babysitting, house-sitting, dog-walking, leaf-raking, doggy-poo yard pick-up.

Look at it this way..if you pay for it, then he can't take it away!!! lol. I think that kind of sucks, but my parents are the same way..even though I really don't have time for a job..b/t school, ACC, and my extra-curricular activities. Just deal with it for a little while, or talk to your mom, maybe she can help talk your step-dad into paying for it, offer to do chores or something around the house..maybe he'll pay for it if you do something like that.

Good for him!! My 9 year old daughter pays for all of her luxury items. She even saved enough money a few years ago for a PS2. If a little kid like that can do it, you can. If you want a phone but can't work, offer to do chores for your parents for a fee. Cleaning the house, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, cooking, yard work, washing cars, these are all things you can suggest. You can even suggest making these things your job regularly if they pay for a phone.

He is only trying to make you responsible little by little. He pays your mom's bill because that is his wife. My husband pays for everything however he won't pay for any of my son's things. He is teaching him what the adult world is all about! Sorry hun but that is the way the world works!

Your step-dad and your mom share a household and probably also share the income. Paying for her cell phone isn't the same as paying for yours. If you're old enough to have a phone, you're old enough to pay for it yourself.

Well at least you acknowledge why.

What is your question?

Welcome to the real world, you should pay your own bill.
Your mother is your stepfather wife, they share those bills and call each other on their cell phones. They will call you to once you get one and be able to keep better tabs on you .
hahahahahahaha.......
