This sounds like a bad case of conjunctivitis that needs to be seen by a veterinarian. There are multiple causes for this (Feline Herpesvirus-1 (FHV-1), Feline Chlamydia, and Feline Mycoplasma), all of which can become sever. If it's mycoplasma or chlamydia, it can be cleared up with antibiotics, allthough chlamydia is known to recur. If it is feline herpes, antibiotics are not going to take care of it but the symptoms should be treated until the cat can get the infection under control. See if the veterinarian can take payment plans, credit cards, or care credit (www.carecredit.com). This can become very severe and cause blindness if not treated. The cat also could have gotten into something and gotten a toxin in the eye or poked it with something. In that case, the veterinarian should be checking for corneal ulcers, and will probably prescribe steroids to reduce the inflammation. I know money can be tight, but this animal needs to get to a vet.

Since your kitty won't let you examine his eye or wipe it with a cool compress. You need to take him to the Vet. It could be an infection or he could have hurt it while playing with something in the house and poked it while you were at work. I'm sorry you can't afford to take him to the Vet. But look at it this way. You took the responsibility of this kitty. Your responsibility is to give him a happy, safe, and healthy life. If you can't afford to take the full responsibility of your pet, then it is time to adopt him out.

When cats get upper respiratory infections, the symptoms are eye infections and sneezy nose. He will need to be treated with antibiotics and eye drops/ointment. Its not an emergency, but needs to be tended to tomorrow- definitely BEFORE the holiday when everyone is closed. Itd suck to have to take him to the emergency clinic on thanksgiving because he's sick!

If you don't have enough money to take the cat to the vet then you shouldn't have a pet! Take it to the local animal welfare place and give it to them. Some vets have payment plans? But having a pet is a responsibility like having a kid, if you can't look after it, give it to someone who can. You could always try a pink eye ointment from the chemist - if it's safe for humans its gonna be safe for animals i guess. He needs to see a vet so if you can't afford it, give him to animal welfare

There must be someone you can ask for help if you can't afford a vet. You could at least call one up to see how much it will be before you decide you can't afford it. Please get some help & get some help for your cat.

It sounds like he has an eye infection. Your cat needs to go to the vet. I hope he feels better soon.

You can't give him your cold. The cold doesn't jump species. It's very possible that he's injured his eye, which requires immediate veterinary attention. If you leave it, he could end up needing the eye removed. (Very expensive.)

He cut his eye badly, you need to call the vet, he needs antibiotics at least, there may be more damage than you think.
