I was the maid of honor in a wedding 1.5 years ago. Is it ok to throw the dress away?

Donate it to a good cause instead.

Relax and give it some time. You do not have to get your bridal party all picked out yet. wait until 6 or 9 months before the wedding to choose. Get to know your new friend better. If you still don't trust her then chose your sister and resign yourself to planning dress shopping, etc. Way in advance, get your sister to come down and visit you for a long weekend. Those happen plenty during the school year. In the end what is important is that you do not get stressed out about it so do what makes you happy.

I wouldn't throw it away. Donate it to a Thrift Store or the Salvation Army. Maybe some gal could use it as a prom dress.

Are you ever going to wear it again? If not, give it to a charity store like the Salvation Army, or a thrift shop that can sell it to someone who may be down on funds and needing a dress.

I haven't decided yet what to do with my bridesmaid dress myself, and I've only had it a few months.

You own the dress so you can toss it or donate it, your choice.

You could toss it, donate it, or even consign it.

Why don't you give it to Good Will?
