70% of abused children come from broken homes
50% divorce rate
more and more couples are living together instead of marriage.

Hello,
It depends on what your definition of traditional morality is.
Certainly the debate about gay marriage is a hard pill for many to swallow but then again Tiger Woods can play on a golf course now instead of only being allowed on as a caddy.
Do we go back to the 19th century where Catholics could not hope to run for political office, where the only good Indian was a dead one? If your teenager gets pregnant to we kick the little harlot of a Jezebel out on the streets to darken our door with her shadow no more? Need we start the Scopes monkey trial again etc.
In short, I am afraid the good ol' days were not that great at times when we thought we had such values.
Cheers,
Michael Kelly

I'm from the UK, I didn't know America had a tradition of morality to return to. The destruction of the Indian Nation wasn't a good start, the civil war, pork barrel politics, snake oil salesmen, crooked ranchers, fake preachers. It was all there from the start, not much better now, except it's on a bigger scale and there's more money involved.
Not that the UK has changed much either....

Bombard all media with family oriented programs and ads that advocate the importance of family. It is sad when only a small percentage the present younger generation eats with their parents only part of the work week (I dont' have the stats right now but will add later if needed). Testify to me of any family you know that eats dinner together 7 days a week. You see where I'm going with this? When our leadership start to emphasize the nuclear family (possibly back to how it was in the 50s) then moral standards will begin to be taught properly from homes. The foundation of morality starts with mom and dad.

A spiritual revival that starts with individual prayer, fasting, and repentance. We need to really want a close rand holy relationship with God. That is what we need. From the people on up to the leaders of this country.

Define traditional morality.
Just remember that fifty years ago, your rights were restricted if your skin was a different color. Is that moral?

If its citizens agree they are good morals, teach them to the young. Traditional doesn't always mean good though.

That has to be done by parents who train their children to be moral persons. When people respect themselves they do not engage in immoral acts.
