After reading your other question... if your heart is set on red flowers for you, then perhaps you should use red in your bridesmaids' bouquets as well. Yes, pink does look very nice with dark brown, but I am having a difficult time picturing red, pink, and brown together. (Red and pink can work together for a monochromatic Valentine's Day type of look, but I don't think that's what you are going for, and if you throw dark brown into the mix, that isn't what you are getting either.)

In order to make your bridesmaids' bouquets stand out a little better against the brown, perhaps you could use a white or ivory bouquet for the bridesmaids or incorporate a little white or ivory into a red bouquet. A red bouquet does look okay against dark brown. Is your heart set on using red flowers in your bridal bouquet? If it is not, then perhaps you should consider going with pink flowers. After seeing some gorgeous pink flower bouquets, I am wishing that pink were one of my wedding colors!

I wouldn't call it tacky. It think it would just seem a little busy with all the different colors. I would opt for a bright pink to stand out from the bridesmaids but still be in the same color group. Brown and pink are lovely colors by the way.

If you're attached to the idea of having all read flowers for yourself, and pink for your girls, it will certainly look more cohesive (and not as though you cheaped out, or didn't think it through, and better in pictures) if you find some way to incorporate pink into your bouquet or red into theirs, and this doesn't only have to be the obvious way (with flowers in the opposite colors) perhaps consider adding feathers and a ribbon in the other color?

with mine, I'm having a black magic rose, burgundy calla lilly and black ostrich feather bouquet, my MOH leonidas (orange/rust) roses and three calla lillies (representing past, present, and future) and my bridesmaid will have leonidas roses and viking daisies (they look like mini sunflowers). It's important to me that my girls not match head to toe. I want there personalities to come through a little, while still maintaining a cohesive look.

Why not choose a mixture of red and pink roses, then have your bouquet be mostly red and your bridesmaids be more pinks. I think this would look wonderful and tie all the colors together!

A picture of all attire would be helpful.
But really, taste in colors and design are relative to each person. If you like it, that is all that really matters.

IMHO, I wouldn't do pink with brown. I think blue with brown looks good, but as I said that is MHO.

Best wishes on a long, happy marriage!

depends on the shade of pink.. pale pink is well complemented by red but darker pinks don't really work.. hold them together and see how you feel.. how about having your flowers red and theirs both red and pale pink?

personally I really like the brown dresses they are showing lately but don't like it with black tuxes.. just put it in front of yourself and decide what you like.. no one else has to like it.. ;-)
