I go to Church to worship God and to partake of the Sacraments that Christ instituted for his believers. Christ said that where two or more are gathered in my name I will be in their presence.

I used to tell everyone to find a good church to go to. I don't do that anymore. I now tell them to seek the Lord in prayer, with a true desire to hear from Him and you will get an answer. The church still does some good, like the assistance during Hurricane Katrina, and so forth. I'm not saying that it doesn't. But the churches of today have so much error and paganism mixed into its doctrines, that it is far from the actual gospel that Jesus taught the apostles.

If you do decide to join a chruch, please don't just believe everything you hear from the pulpit. Just because a preacher says something, doesn't necessarily make it truth. The Lord loves you and is willing to speak to you too. Read the bible, really dig into it, praying for the Spirit to guide you and expect to receive. In Joel 2:28, 29 the bible states that in the last days the Lord will pour out His Spirit on ALL FLESH. Not just on pastors and ministers. Seek to hear what the Lord is saying to you. Also pray for understanding of what you read and hear. And know that what the Spirit says will be backed by the bible, and vice-versa.

We are in the end times and need to have a deep personal relationship with God to make it through the rough times ahead. We honestly can't make it any other way.

I started out in a Pentecostal church that I loved, but there came a time when I stopped growing there spiritually. The Lord pulled me out of there and what's happened since is just awesome. It's not that everything is going peachy keen in my life. There are some things that I wish were different, but it's my relationship with the Lord that makes it ok.

I hope my reply helped. I'm praying for you. Feel free to drop me a line anytime. I also have a study guide that can help. Never any charge. Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving!

Though going to church does not automatically make you a good/true Christian, and it is not required to go to make you a good/true Christian, it is good to go to gain knowledge. If you go to the right church, the preacher will preach and give you proper knowledge that coincides with the Bible. You get to learn about God, sing to the Lord, give time to Him, have some time where you're thinking nothing else EXCEPT Him, you learn ways to grow closer to the Lord, learn to be righteous, and if you're in church enough, especially doing more than going to sermons, you can even have an easier time fighting the good fight and living right because you are surrounded by godly people! Being around godly people is ALL good! :-)
I know having gone to church really helps me!

Why not go to Church? With the conditions of the world today it's good to be around other people who believe the same way I do and worship the Lord.

For one of The True Christian Faith there is the instruction that we are not to forsake gathering togeather... this need not be in a "church" building however... where ever two or more are gathered in Christ's name that is where The church is. The Church is not a building. God is not concerned with man's invented "denominations". No one gets into heaven based on the "denomination" one belongs to or the building one goes to.

When you go to church, you become part of a community. You are able to learn from others experiences and share a part of their life.
You also make yourself available to be of service to those around you.
No man is an island.

The Church is where the Community, founded by Jesus Christ, gathers to worship God. We support each other with our prayers. We follow the example of Jesus Who prayed with His Jewish Community.

You go to church if God tells you to and listen to specifics but church is not necessary otherwise ....We are the church!

I go to church because I LOVE to worship my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It fills me with such joy to sing praises to him!!! I also go because it is so wonderful to be in the company of other Christians and learn more about Biblical times.
