Cartilage hurts waaay more than nose, seriously. Getting my nose done was just a pinch and my eye watered but cartilage was pretty bad (well I have a couple of cartilage ones and the thicker ones are obviously worst). Healing tends to be worse than the actual piercing anyway so with nose I'd just say make sure you're careful that it doesn't fall out at night (don't have a lacey pillow that it could catch on) because mine fell out a lot in the beginning and I'd basically have to repierce it... not good!
I think my nose was my least painful piercing to be honest apart from lobes. Good luck and happy piercing.

I have my nose, my belly button, and 5 cartilage piercings. Navel hurt the LEAST, cartilage didn't hurt at all, just pressure... and the nose was a sharp pinch but it was over quickly. All of them were positive experiences. I'm terrified of needles... I pass out when I get a shot at the doctors... but piercings don't bother me anymore. The nose piercing, if you get it, is prone to getting caught on things while you sleep. I cover mine with a tiny bandaid while I sleep to avoid this. The navel ring can also be covered by a bandage while sleeping only. Don't cover them unnecessarily; they need to breathe.
Anyway, none of them really hurt at all. Go for the one YOU like best. Don't judge by pain, because there really won't be much pain at all... trust me!
EDIT: GET THEM DONE WITH NEEDLES, NOT GUNS!!! NEVER USE PIERCING GUNS!!!
I also have the rook piercing (inside cartilage of ear) and that didn't hurt either! If you do it with a needle and in a professional, clean studio, the pain should be minimal to none. Be safe and sterile!

Cartilage is nothing. Make sure you don't sleep on it and clean it regularly and it's a breeze.
Nose, on the other hand, is extremely painful. It hurts getting it pierced and it hurts when you take jewelery in and out. I've had mine done for over a year and it's still painful to remove. If you get it done, make sure you keep ice on it and clean it; not a lot of maintenance at all. When you decide to put new jewelery in, Vaseline helps get the jewelery in and out with no problems. After wards, if it is red and hurts, ice helps. I clean my nose piercing with witch hazel often to keep the area around it clean and to soothe it when I've bumped it, have allergies/runny nose, etc.
If it boils down to pain, get the cartilage piercing; it doesn't hurt as much and they will use a gun, not a long needle like with a nose piercing.
Good luck!

cartilage definately is a bit more painful than just a nose peircing. nose piercings and regular ear piercings don't really hurt at all.

I would say that the one with the more dense nerve grouping would hurt more. Part of pain is in the mind. The other part is in the nerves that are triggered. More nerves mean more pain.
