I'm 15 (16 in Jan). Currently I live with my mom and aunt (have since I was 5 or 6). My aunt is mentally unstable (she's been diagnosed) and she used to hit me (she won't now because I'm bigger than her) and she constantly insults me. My mom is disabled and needs surgeries (she's always in pain) so there's not much there. Even tiny things can get to her. I have no friends. I'm not allowed to make friends with the neighbor kids because my aunt believes they constantly spy on us. My dad's a drug addict. I have almost no other family and they're old and I don't know them very well. The other part of my family doesn't speak to me. The last grade I completed in school was sixth grade. I barely leave the house. I have a problem with cutting. I asked my mom for help but she did nothing. I don't want to live with my family anymore. What can I do?

I don't want to go into a foster home. I know foster kids who get beaten and raped.

I don't have any resources to run away.

I can't use the phone without permission. I can't tell my mom or aunt it's to talk about how depressed I feel.

I'm not in school. I'm not around anyone but my mom, my aunt and sometimes my great-aunt, grandpa and dad.

My aunt says I'm the only problem in their lives. My mom says if it weren't for me, she wouldn't have to deal with my father. They say I'm useless. I don't think they'd miss me that much.

I believe in Jesus. I'm a Christian. So is my aunt and mom. My aunt's more of a Christian than I am. She reads her bible every night and watches Charles Stanley on the tv every Sunday morning.

My neighbors don't like me very much. My aunt was really rude to them like giving them the finger for no reason and then laughing at their expression.

I don't know if you believe in Jesus, but I do, and He cares very much about what you're going through. He wants to help you with your cutting problem, and your lonliness. Ask Him to put His love into your aunt's heart so she will be kinder to you, and ask Him to make your mom better. I will be praying for you and your family.

Lovingly,
Virginia

I might be able to give better advice if I know what area you live in. Running away at any age is dangerous. It is too bad that you don't have someone in the family that you can stay with. All I can say at this point is trust in the Lord. Pray to Father in the Name of Jesus, study the Bible, and watch Christian TV. As you seek the Lord, He will reveal to you what to do. Make some Christian friends. (There are many nice ones on here). I will be praying for you.
E mail me if you would like to talk. I can recommend some older Christian ladies that would be glad to talk to you).

Go out and get a job. You may as well work since you are not going to school. This will give you some time away from them. (Popular belief says you need to have a GED or diploma to work, but I never had a problem getting work without those.) You are almost 16, you could always get emancipated after your birthday.

I don't know what to say... I just want to pull you into my arms and give you a great big hug.

I am praying for you.

Wow, I am so sorry this is going on with you. There are 800 numbers you can call for help on your situation. I know you say you don't want to go into a foster home, but there are really good ones out there, They are not all bad. I really think that you need to talk to someone, I don't know if your in school now but if you are talk to a counsilor or teacher. Don't let this continue, you are too young to be so unhappy.

The only thing i can come up with is run to the neighbors real quick and tell them. Also pray to Jesus. (your family are christians?) O_o! if they were, your aunt wouldn't insult you or your mom wouldn't blame you for things or say your a mistake.

Well if you have no other family, and don't want to live at home (understandably) and also don't want to go into foster care than I'm afraid that pretty much rules out all your options. I would re-consider the idea of a foster home. Most of them are good.
