From what I've read, pick the background colour in your quilt or comforter as long as it's a lighter colour. A really dark colour will make the room look smaller. If it's a bedroom, it should be a soothing colour, not bright, light brown, moss green, warm gold. Just really love the colour before you paint. If you're not sure and then paint, you may not like it. Paint isn't cheap and it's time consuming, so really love the colour!

It all depends on what you spend the most time doing in your room...if you only really sleep and relax in there, blue would be a good color. If you spend a lot of time in there, yellow is a good color, it puts you in a good mood, or even do the trim in one of those colors, and the wall in the other. I would definately not recommend red, it can make you have a hard time calming down and getting to sleep.

I love red! A true red! But not on all 4 walls. My room is a nice neutral tan with one red accent wall. If you do red, don't forget your light grey primer... red paint goes on like kool-aid without it. Just use regular white primer and add about an ounce of craft paint in black to it and that will do just fine!

try your favorite color or a combination of colors like a pattern. i would go tottally for a pattern, it would make the room look much cuter and not so boring [like stripes]. never paint ure room dark. what would be a good choice - like a pale pink, baby blue, or yellow.

Stick with something neutral or with a slight tint of your favourite colour. Keeping it neutral means that you can add the colour with accessories (linen, cushions, artwork). This way, when you've had enough of one theme or colour, it is easier to change it, no need to repaint. Don't go with a stark white, but make sure the colour you choose is a 'clean colour', not dirty looking. Alabaster or antique white, but clean white for the trims (archatraves etc). Good luck and have fun with it.

do either strips on your walls with lime green, blue and white
or you could do a checkerboard of green and blue or pink and blue
or you could even paint it a solid green and cut out wooden circles of different sizes an paint them all different colors and put them on your wall at the top
