Depends on the context - physics or philosophy?

In terms of physics, positive and negative are electrical polarity charges. The words "positive" and "negative" are just labels we give to items that have a charge that is heavily weighted with protons (positive charge) or electrons (negative charge). As you probably know, protons, neutrons (uncharged matter particles) and electrons are all the basic building blocks of the atom, which is the most simple form of matter in our universe. Each atom is for one - and only one - element as described on the periodic table of elements.

In terms of philosophy, negative is simply evil, and positive is simply good. It's worth noting here that nothing in this plane of existence can be 100% good or 100% evil - the philosophy of the yin and the yang applies to everything. That is, that within everything good is some evil, and within everything evil is some good, and that the forces of good and evil flow together to balance our universe. For evidence of this, just look at Church sex scandals and crooked cops. Typically pastors and cops do a lot of good, but they always mess up eventually...

Like, the numbers?

Well a positive number is any number greater than zero, and a negative number is any number less than zero. For example, -3 would be a negative number, and 3 would be positive.

If your looking for the real word terms, positive means "okay, good, correct" and negative means "no".

Draw a sine-wave and place a line through the baseline. Anything above it is positive, and everything below it is negative. Every time it touches the line, it is neutral, or zero!

When you test positive you have the disease. Negative means you don't have the disease. I say this because you put the question under infectious diseases.
