If you are talking about letter sealing wax, candle wax is too soft but you can probably use crayons, they're not quite as hard as seallng wax but they should be hard enough.

No...candle wax is designed to stay soft. Most candles contain paraffin, which is also greasy, and will stain the paper, if that's what you are using it for. Sealing wax contains a hardener.
If you are trying to seal jars with either spill-able or spoil-able contents, the answer is still no, Candle wax has no tensile strength and negligible adhesive qualities.

Candle wax is not made of the same ingredients. Sealing wax is more of a rubber while regular candles is a true wax.

For what purpose?

If its anything to do with water then no, candle wax is generally rubbish with water and will just crumble within a little time.

for jarred and canned foods? normal parfin I don't think so... but I know the pure soy wax I use to make candles says it can be used for jarring as well.

I'm bout to start to learn that craft. Have to come back and see what others say.

Try for yourself. it might work because I make lots of things with candle wax (working on a fortress)

Depends what you are sealing. Food--no Other things--probably. Try a small spot and test it.
