I hope that Islam will not give same "Justice" to the rest of the world

It's wrong by our standards

By our standards, a person who is exonerated by DNA evidence can still end up serving out their time, or it can take months to finally get them released.

Is that USA justice? Life ruined, now they can't even get it back together.

Then factor in our smear news and people that are innocent are tried in the press.

Is that USA justice?

Or the fact that everyone in the USA will have at least one appearance before a judge in their lifetime. Be it from a parking ticket, to murder.

Is that justice?

Or that if I am caught with small amount of cocaine I will probably receive a very light sentence, but a black caught with crack can get thrown in the slammer for 20 years.

Is that justice?

The list of injustices world wide would fill volumes. While we don't lash our woman for getting raped, we still rape those in our system.

And finally, not all Islam supports this, that would be like me saying all conservatives hate the constitution. That is simply not true.

Peace

Jim

Yes, this is Islamic justice as practiced in Saudi Arabia.
Yes, she was sentenced to 6 months in jail & 90 lashes for being the victum, but that sentence was increased to 200 lashes because she spoke out publically about it & tried to callenge the verdict.
In addition, her lawyer is facing a 3-year jail sentence & possible disbarrment for taking her case.
And in case you're wondering, the rapists each recieved 100-200 lashes &3-12years in prison, depending on their part in the crime.
You can hope all you want, but yes this is basically the "justice' the islamist would like to impose on the rest of the planet.

Well, she was not sentenced for being raped. She was sentenced for being in the car with a male not a relative.

The perpertrators of the rape were given prison time.

She evidently got lashes added because she in some way tried to use the media, possibly to sway public opinion or something.

These are their laws, and the justice system in U.S. is a joke also, so we don't have much room to talk.

You need to look at the other side of the story. First, all those that involved in the rape were sentenced anywhere from 2-10 years in prison and recieved proper punishment according to their laws.

Why this woman was sentanced? Because she had broken Saudi law. In their culture (No matter how foreign it is to us) it is illegal for a women to leave the house by herself with out permission from a male in the house hold. This sometimes could be the woman's own son. For this reason, and this law that she broke, is why she was sentanced to 6mo in Jail and 200 lashes.

My sympethy goes out to here for what crimes were commited against her, but if she was in an area where she was supposed to go, at a time she was supposed to be there, and did something against the law, they have their rights to punish her. It is not like this law is a foreign concept to her.

While I dont agree with the punishment, I am not a resedent of Saudi Arabia and their culture produces laws that work for them.

Yes, this is ISLAMIC justice, not necessarily JUSTICE. It's their law as written and enforced in their country.

Of course, right now we are wiretapping conversations without warrants, tracking people cellphones and gps units, and currently holding a number of people in jail for long periods without trial or even being charged. That's our law as written and enforced in our country.

Is this the new AMERICAN justice? Hope not.

I find it interesting that the Saudi Arabian King and Princes are best of friends with the entire Bush family.

When George Bush was asked about this, he had no comment.

Birds of a feather, I say.

I don't think this is a Islam issue, it's a Saudi problem, they are one of the most sexist countries in the world...and by buying their oil we are condoning their medieval/ backward ways..

Unfortunately....by the use of torture, secret prisons, and denying human rights over the last few years....we are in NO position to lecture them anymore...we used to be able to take the high road and demand countries improve their civil rights records...who will listen to us now?

I'd have to hear why she was sentenced. Was she sentenced because she was raped?
