Again, we have the "blessing and curse" concept. The Green Eyed Monster, (Jealousy) has two aspects: on the one hand, it causes suffering and pain. But without it, Eros (Love) is dead. In brief, once you cease to feel jealous of your lover, it means you no longer feel love for that person.

The green-eyed monster is jealousy. What the quote is saying is that even though jealousy causes problems in a relationship. Its mere existence shows in some way that love is alive.
