if you are a catholic, you use the rosary for prayer, you don't wear it. each bead is one prayer, and there are 2 or 3 different ones you do. it basically helps you to count the number of times you've said one prayer, and when there's a space, you switch prayers. praying the rosary is a prayer cycle, and i always found it meditative.

while you pray the hail mary, you concentrate in your mind on the mystery you are on. then go to the next mystery and think about it all thru the 10 hail marys. btw, the rosary is a very effecatious way to pray.

You say the Hail Mary on each bead..hold them in your hand and work your way around the necklace; there is a prayer for each stop on the necklace.
"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus Christ.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death."
Amen
How's that for memory? I grew up Catholic.

you wrap it tight around both hands and pull it taunt. You find the guy with the funny clothes and weird Chess piece looking hat that Jesus never would have worn and coming up behind him quietly you slowly stretch out your hands and... Oh wait. that was a pleasant dream I had once.

All the different beads and junctions represent different prayers (ie, little beads represent "Hail Mary"). There are plenty of books and websites out there that reference them.

There are many things to do with many objects, but not all of them are appropriate for this forum.
