If she has fleas she could be itching her skin until it gets infected. More likely though, is that she's eating a poor diet filled with corn or corn meal. It'll make a dog smell like doritos or corn chips. Gross huh?

Also, take her to the vet and get her mouth checked out. Just because you brush her teeth that doesn't mean she can't get an infected tooth or cavity.

Has she been to the vet? She may have an ear infection and that can really stink and she is actually in really bad pain besides. Look in her ears and see if there is a discharge and do they smell. If so take her to the vets.

The flea problem is uncomfortable but does not smell. But you need to treat the yard the house/carpet and the dog. Flea get on the dog to feed/blood and drop off to lay eggs. So when you treat the dog you are not getting the problem. Get some stuff at the lawn and garden shop called 7 dust. It can be put on the lawn and broomed into the carpet and it drys up the fleas and ticks. It is even safe on the dog. But can dry their skin if used in excess.

If she is an old dog...sometimes they just smell.

Dear 12 year old - your parents need to take the dog to the vet and get frontline plus or advantage. They also need to have the dogs anals checked, which can cause a tremendous stink. While at the vet, your parents need to buy a product used to treat the home for fleas. This product should have an IGR (insect growth regulator) in it, please, do not use OTC flea remedies.
Also, I have seen dogs with a rubber band or something tied around a limp or the neck, tearing into the skin, causing infection, causing a horrible odor. I am hoping that isn't the case, but thought I would mention that.
You sound like you are doing all that you can to help your dog, but your parents need to have the home and the dog treated for fleas and to investigate WHY the dog smells. Frequent baths aren't good for the skin and can cause drying and flaking and irritation. It would be most excellent if you accompanied your parents to the vet with your dog and asked the vet questions regarding the dogs health.
Good luck, sweetie.

get her some advantage ( for the fleas) ....little pricey but worth it. Then get some doggie spray on conditioner, because you can't give her a bath with the flea treatment on. When my dogs come in from the rain I rub them with a fabric softener sheets. It takes the wet dog smell away, if it works on wet dog stink I'm sure it would work for a normal every day doggie odor. Good luck!

try a different shampoo there a thousands out there to choose from as far as the fleas go make a trip to your vet and get some frontline this will take care of both fleas and ticks just make sure to wait at list 24hrs after you give her a bath to use it or else it won't work.
