Don't worry, it's perfectly normal for mentally retarded cats to not meow.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with him so do not worry at all. One of my cats doesn't miaow either - she makes a little 'yap' sound that looks like she's miming - she's fine, it's just her way of communicating. :) On the very rare occasion that she does miaow, which is usually when she is waiting to be fed, she makes the tiniest little squeak.

I've had her for 8 years and she's always been like this but she's the healthiest cat on earth! She's about 16 now and the vet is always really impressed with how super healthy she is!

So you really shouldn't worry, your cat isn't ill, he doesn't need a vet. Just like people, some cats are quieter than others. :)

This happens sometimes to cats, sometimes because of brain damage. Did you just get the cat when it was 1 year and 3 months old, you did you only notice now and have had it for a while? Cats who cannot meow are similar to people who cannot talk. It's not usually serious. And how do you know that the cat can meow, and is simply choosing not to? Cats who cannot meow usually learn to make yowling noises later in life, if encouraged.

1. Can your cat make noise?
2. Has your cat ever been around other cats?

We had a kitten that was about a year old when we first exposed it to another cat. It didn't really meow normally until it hear another cat.

Nothing's wrong with him. Stop worrying. I have 6 cats. One is silent. Three of them just meow. Two of them are "talkers." When they want something or just my attention, they go "mew mew mi mew me" on and on till I do or give them what they want. Sometimes I wish they couldn't make any noise at all. Especially at night when I'm trying to sleep. But I adore them all.

Nothing is wrong with him. Some cats dont meow, or meow like you would expect. My cat doesn't meow and my wife claims that the devil took her voice. I suspect my wife is joking, because my cat is sweet.

try meowing to it, or purring
Maybe it was taken from it mother too early
