on Easter last year we saw a guy with a sign near the highway, his car had given out and he was trying to get home. He was broke, hungry and just about desparate. i bought him a big chicken dinner and took it to him (slipped a $10 bill in there because it was a Holiday) and he was so overwhelmed..thanked us profusely. another time a young man was desparate for water or something to drink (it was in Tx, about 105) and no one would help. He didn't want $$, just water. So I went in and bought him 3 large Evians and some other drinks. He cried. So sometimes it is really appreciated.

If you feel inclined to do so, give him something to eat. Money could be used for drugs/alcohol. What I sometimes do is if I pass a homeless person and they ask for food, I'll offer whatever I have on me; a granola bar, "doggy bag" from a restaurant, etc. If they are really in need, they will be grateful for that.
It is also ok to just say, "no thank you" when they ask and keep walking.

well this is the problem with taking in all these immigrants, now we can't as a country take care of our own. but i would try and give him food, money, maybe a little conversation. i'm sure he is lonely and forgotten. we think it's bad now? more homeless are on the way i'm afraid

I say you should go get him something to eat or take him inside a restaurant and order and pay for a meal for him. I've done this before.

If he's not asking for a handout, I'm not giving. There are so many of those individuals in my city I'd go broke giving them money, so I guess my answer is "C".
