this is to trustee: is Muhammed peace be upon him not a Messnger of Allah? he was sent to give us the message, and everything that he forbade is forbidden from Allah, nit his mind, he didnt make up his rulings.
as for the answer to this question, there is no question that music is haraam, and there is a AYAH IN THE QUR'AN the curses the poets, i.e, those who associate with musical instruments, and did u ever hear the story of the {prophet peace be upon him) before his propethood, he was invited to a wedding and there were musical instruments being played. Allah SWT put the messenger to sleep so that his mind and soul will not be poisoned with music. another time the prophet went to another party, and the samething happened.
doesnt that give u enough proof to tell u that musical instruments are haraam? check our Surat Ash-Shu'araa' (the chapter of the Poets)
COME ON MUSLIMS!!!!!!!! WE NEED TO UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!

in the call of Allah the main Gracious the main Merciful. a individual would desire to have reliable awareness in the previous making any statmnent almost approximately Islam, because of the fact countless Vultures are awating to take a poke at Islam for any reason. so a ways as Islam is in touch all musical contraptions are haaram excepting the Duff or some thing sounding like it on an analogous concepts because of the fact the Duff. Which considerable pupils are you refering to offer help to this haaram action.merely because of the fact a music is in line with Allah it does not permitt the Singer to apply haaram contraptions.you may sing a music in line with Allah utilising the sound of a Duff as history Or organic sounds,of flowing rivers, breeze, chirping of birds and so forth.Allah and Haraam movements does not flow mutually. If some Muslim singers like Maher Zain are utilising the call of Allah to attraction to Muslims purchasers for his or her Songs utilising haraam contraptions, then it extremely is the artwork of the devil and youn can not locate fault with Islam for the movements of Ignorant Muslims.

Sister go to Islamway or some other website or use a torrent search and download one.. Muslim, Dawud, Bukhari all the hadiths say that Musical instruments are forbidden ......
to the guy who said he just needs the Quran? How do you know how to pray? How do you know how to wash for prayer? if you only needed the Quran then you would follow it when it tells us all to follow the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed(SAW)......
Really read chapter Luqman in the Quran especially 31:6
here is a site that gives free hadith downloads of Bukhari, Muslim and Dawud...

Hazrath Anas (R.A.) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “There will certainly be people from my Ummah who will attempt to legalize fornication, the wearing of silk (for males), the consuming of wine and the use of musical instruments” (Al-Jaamius Sagheer - Pg. 139). Indeed this prophesy of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is glaring before us. Despite the clear prohibition of the use of musical instruments, great efforts are being made to “legalize” their use. While some people wish to declare all music permissible, others are opening the door slowly by declaring that only the use of the “duff” is permissible. Thus it is necessary to examine the reality of these claims in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah.

Question: Is it permissible to manufacture, sell, or buy musical instruments that are made for children’s play? And is it permissible for adults to use them?
Answer: If the music that is suitable for entertainment and amusement gatherings comes out of it, then it is neither permissible to deal in, nor are adults allowed to use them.
Question: Musical instruments are of different kinds. Sometimes they are used in musical gatherings and sometimes for soothing the soul. Is it then permissible to buy these instruments, manufacture them, deal in them, or play them to soothe the soul or listen to the ir sounds when someone else is playing them?
Answer: It is not permissible to deal in the instruments of harãm entertainment: neither selling nor buying, just as it is not permissible to manufacture them and accept remuneration for making them.
“An instrument of harãm entertainment” means that its physical shape—that gives its value and eventually the purpose for acquiring it— is not suitable except for use in harãm entertainment.
Question: Is it permissible to listen to revolutionary songs accompanied by sounds of piano, lute, drum, wind-pipe, and electronic piano?
Answer: If the music accompanying it is that which is suitable for entertainment and amusement gatherings, it is not permissible to listen to it.
Question: Is it permissible for women to sing in the a wedding party in whatever tune, even if it is suitable for the gatherings of sinful people? Is it permissible for them to use musical instruments while singing that night? Is it permissible for them to sing, wearing henna [on the bride’s hand and feet], or on the eve of the seventh night [after the marriage]? Or is the permission restricted to the marriage eve?
Answer: Based on compulsory precaution, they should refrain from it, even on the marriage eve, let alone other occasions. As for the issue of music, its rules have already been mentioned earlier.

1) Allah Most High says:
“And there are among men, those that purchase idle tales, to mislead (men) from the path of Allah and throw ridicule. For such there will be a humiliating punishment” (Surah Luqman, V. 6).
The great Companion Abd Allah ibn Mas’ud (Allah be pleased with him) states in the explanation of the word “idle tales”:
“By Allah its meaning is music” (Sunan al-Bayhaqi, 1/223 & authenticated by al-Hakim in his Mustadrak, 2/411).
Imran ibn Husain (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “This Ummah will experience the swallowing up of some people by the earth, metamorphosis of some into animals, and being rained upon with stones”. A man from amongst the Muslims asked: “O Messenger of Allah! When will this be?” He said: “When female singers and musical instruments appear and alcohol will (commonly) be consumed” (Recorded by Imam Tirmizi, Imam Ibn Majah in their respective Sunan collections, and the wording here is of Sunan Tirmizi).
Abd Allah Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “Verily Allah has forbidden alcohol, gambling, drum and guitar, and every intoxicant is haram” (Musnad Ahmad & Sunan Abu Dawud).
7) Abu Umama (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give peace) said: “Allah Mighty and Majestic sent me as a guidance and mercy to believers and commanded me to do away with musical instruments, flutes, strings, crucifixes, and the affairs of the pre-Islamic period of ignorance” (Musnad Ahmad & Abu Dawud Tayalisi).
8) Abd Allah ibn Mas’ud (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “Song makes hypocrisy grow in the heart as water does herbage” (Sunan al-Bayhaqi).
9) Anas (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give peace) said: “On the day of Resurrection, Allah will pour molten lead into the ears of whoever sits listening to a songstress” (Recorded by Ibn Asakir & Ibn al-Misri).

here are some sites that use tect from the hadith. it will clear any misconceptions.
http://www.inter-islam.org/Prohibitions/Mansy_music.htm
http://www.themuslimwoman.com/beware/MusicisHaram.htm
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/1716/music.html
as you can see they all agree that music is haram. i watched sehri time during ramadan on QTV and mufti mohammed akmal said , "music is strictly forbidden in islam. most of the time people say that hadrath dawood (as) sang." i believe after that he said that isnt true or something like that (about hadrath dawood (as) singing.
i also listen to music, knowing that its wrong. shaytan has found a way to control over me, and i believe he has used music as his weapon. i should stop listening to music, but what can i do? anyways you got the answer to your question.
EDIT: youre welcome meme!
