Yes on the eighth day, which is why January first is a Catholic Holy Day. Some older Catholics (my mother) still refer the Feast of the Circumcision. Great mental image for a feast huh? I believe the name is now the Feast of the Holy Family.
Oops apparently I am confusing feasts. The Feast of the Holy Family is the Sunday after Christmas, not necessarily January First.

I am not sure if it is biblical but I do know that 12th day of christmas is little christmas and the catholics celebrate it . My guess is yes he is a Jew so it would have been custom but it would be a contradiction would nt it
